General A 4x4 off-road weekend in Yorkshire, 5th & 6th of December.

Getting excited now.

- I've blagged a bed on Saturday night, in return for seat space for friends on Sunday, so no longer need the grid in the close thanks Andy.

Bring on, the surely misleadingly titled, 'Dead Man's Hill'!

p.s - Just clicked Jacob's link to the Met office to see weather warnings in place for Masham. - But at least the UV level is not a worry.

Hope everyone has a great time - plenty of pictures please! (y)

I was hoping to make it, but wasn't to be. A mixture a too much work, not being well, and now a very ill elderly cat, firmly put the mockers on it sadly. :(

Next time though - hopefully there will be another one! :)

You'll be sadly missed Gav, I hope you can get fixed along with your cat to have a good Xmas and we'll definitely see you at the next :)

Well a massive thanks to all who have come along this weekend it's been wet, windy, muddy, rocky, bumpy, flooded and brilliant!

A bit of a wash out on the Saturday due to underwater roads but still a lot of fun, a lovely meal in the evening with fantastic company.

Today was a lot better, plenty of mud and rocks. I hope nobody has taken on too much damage from the last track - I think everybody involved deserves a medal for taking the lane over Middlesmoor on and surviving. The final farm course was also fantastic fun with everybody getting stuck in for some play time, a huge thanks to Paul has been passed on for letting us have the opportunity.

I took mainly video over the weekend so I'll be putting together a montage from the weekend soon. Here are a few of the pics I got, and also some that Sam has passed on, more to follow...

Just BRILLIANT, this weekend! - Massive thanks Andy for arranging everything perfectly, including the weather.

So. In no particular order:- Who knew...?...

..It can rain a bit, int' North. But you can't fault their sign posting.

An 'embarrassment' of Pandas is pretty much unstoppable. (This is David replacing a gear linkage-)

Land Rovers make excellent Panda accessories. (Thank you Land Rover men, I salute your vehicles, your banter and your patience.)

Bow waves can soak your back seat. (This comment should make more sense once the video is up.)

Cross country runners can still shout abusive expletives while going uphill. (Bravelly)

The sound of that much falling water can be heard so far away from Niagra Falls.

El Presidente has earned his title in perpetuity.

Well we made it back from a brilliant weekend despite the weather and Yorkshire countryside doing thier damnedest to stop us. It was great fun, and has expanded even further my knowledge of what the Pandas are capable of.

Great to see everyone again, and massive thanks to Andy for his brilliant organisational skills. Sorry we left the farm without saying goodbye in person but you were hiding somewhere in the undergrowth when it was time for us to leave.

Well what a weekend! Fun weather, great people and hospitality and lots of Pandas.

My car is a little trooper, and got me home safe in excellent time despite all the abuse! Definitely earn't some panda pampering pre MOT end of this month. I've started to strip out the interior ready for cleaning and drying. And definitely got some work to do to improve her fear of the wet stuff! But really glad to have found out this weakness so I can tackle a new and exciting design challenge

I also didn't take that many photos this time, but the memories will be enough...and the knowledge that more good memories and fun times will definitely be created in the future :slayer: But I do have some video which I will try to put up along with some photos tomorrow evening. :D

Thanks again El Presidente Inglese and all that helped give us have a fun time.

David ( aquamarine ) feel free to keep the carb jet. I am pretty sure I've got a load of that size from various carbs I've collected. Definitely worth getting the carb out the car and cleaning it all out thoroughly. I remove all the jets / etc for cleaning separately (remember to write down where each bit came from) soak it in carb cleaner overnight and then give the carb a bit of a shake around/ flush out with fresh carb cleaner. Then once dry get a vacuum cleaner and tape a straw into the end and suck from all the holes you can find :D before re-assembling and re-fitting. It's a pain, and may well not get the dirt the first time but should be more reliable and the blocked jets should happen less frequently. I also think the airbox paint flakes off inside and drops into the carb. So might be worth sanding and re-painting it inside and out!

Anyway, see you all soon! I must now try to sleep despite being far too high off another successful Panday :slayer:

Cheers,
Si

oh if i had Fallout on the road... fording is something that i am going to make it "compatible" with.. big time.

in a way i am kinda glad i did not come along as i dont really want to put Talon though deep water... again.. it takes a lot to clean him, when he has about an inch worth of extra sound proofing under the carpets and .. oh so long to dry.

fallouts 750 rubber flooring can just be pulled out without having to undo anything.. so water inside the car is nooooo problem :D
