Bought Tara the Terra off Ebay last Sunday (8/3/15) from Brighton.
It's a 4 speed 903 cc.
The clutch is really bad with a crunchy gear change.
So Tuesday made a start on changing the clutch, on removing the old one it still had plenty of material left on it but never mind, as I took out the nearside driveshaft the inner tripod joint broke. Got a new one on order now.
My plans for the project are as follows.
The drivers door is severely rusted on the hinge side and is distorted. So I will try to get a new one.
Then convert the car to mk1 spec as it has the side profiles that they had.
Have seen a selection of parts but haven't found the correct front bumper yet.
I have temporarily fitted my son's old mk2 bonnet as the Seat one was totally rotten on the front edge. Have won a Fiat Panda badge on Ebay tonight so that will go on the rear doors.
Then I want to paint the car a nice shade of white with maybe some subtle graphics . I've chosen white to match the interior and also because it's a classic colour.Hopefully have it back on the road at the weekend. If any one has any early parts can you let me know. Cheers

Hi
Just got a nos metal front grille from Malta on its way
New rear light lens from over seas somewhere
and fiat Panda badge for the rear doors.
Also ordered some sticker bomb to cover where the old badge was to hide the faded paint.

You may end up with two rear fog lamps if it's for continent.

Just seen these on google.
Nice roof option

Yes it will end up with 2 fogs because I like that look as it's more balanced and symmetrical.I shall alter the wiring so it works properly.
I have seen another front grille on french Ebay with round yellow spots fitted nos but about 189 euros
I search for panda 30

Want whatever I do look factory fitted so haven't really thought about a solution yet

Some of my latest jobs.
Removed Seat and Terra badging and covered with sticker bombing . ( This is short term to make it look surfer VW make it cooler more trendy and to disguise it's origins).
Fitted new interior lights in the rear.
Also removed tap from sink as it was stopping the work top from closing properly. Also took out battery and wiring from under sink unit.
Removed rubber mat from the front and the carpet underlay beneath it which was soaking wet and dried out the floor. Removed drivers door card as the pocket was full of water. I think it is because the door is buckled and doesn't shut.
It needs welding where the floor meets the inner sill on both sides.

The stickers are to disguise it's origins from Seat.
It's only a temporary cover to disguise the faded paint where the badges where.
Hopefully swap some wheels over at the weekend and fit proper Fiat wheel trims I am borrowing from my son's;)
Still buying loads a bits from the bay of E at the moment
Thanks for the feedback

Greetings,

Looks like a nice project, it's become all the rage to panda'ize these Marbella / Terras but this might be a good thing for me. Would you be interested in selling the headlights if you get some mk1 lights to replace them?

I race a Marbella and have struggled to find replacements when things go erm...a little wrong!...

So, yeah keen on having a spare or 2

Sorry to vulture so soon, just spotted you had an advert up for headlights and bumper. VmanC is the headlight still left on the green scrapper? that would be one of the headlights at least, although it does need a new mk1 indicator lens but those are plentiful on the ebay (y)

Cheers,
Si

i think i have a spare from our marbella.. its for the drivers side, as the pass side was smashed when i got ours. i bought a pair though so had it left over.

any good to you man?
if you are going to any meets this year, i'll bring it along :D

Yes any parts that could be of use to you like the headlights , bumper .
The bonnet is knackered though it has split where the catch is. Could be fixed if you're desperate though.
Having a nightmare finding a correct bumper , been quoted £200 without shipping:eek:.
Managed to source the early 4" x 13" steelies tonight just waiting for the seller to sort carriage out.

Awesome thanks, yes any side is fine. I don't mind having too many spares..it's the opposite that becomes the problem  ...although I do have a spare drivers side for the same reason as you...passenger side was killed and got a pair (off Alik in fact :slayer:). Let me know how much you would like anyway and will try to catch up at the next possible occasion

Also awesome thanks  Headlights defo be keen to grab, the sort of thing which get easily destroyed really. I do have a spare bumper as well but tempted slightly to save it from going to waste at least and maybe to have one to play around with / try to improve cooling etc. If you let me know by PM or similar how much you'd like for them and whereabouts roughly you're based can see about arranging pick-up. I imagine you'll want to hang on to these parts till you source replacements though, which is no probs for me. I'm in no hurry as they're just for spares really.

Thanks again to both yee anyway :slayer:
