Ok, well I hope I don't fall foul of the "stick it in the classified's" brigade - I could put it in there too (though it's not my advert), but tbh I think someone like Freebo or Par are most likely to be interested..........

I have been contacted via the FMC by someone wanting to sell his Panda 4x4 - I have no connection, and I know nothing about the chap or the car.

I have tried to get as much info as possible (I think I did quite well!), but he was using a friend's computer and doesn't want to keep batting emails around (understandable). I guess he is an older chap (as there is no computer), and although I asked, I have not been sent any photos. (n) What I have managed to obtain though, sounds interesting & would be of interest to anyone looking for a really good 4x4 especially if they were in Yorkshire - now you see why I tagged you 2! ;)

I have the gentleman's telephone number, but will only give this to genuinely interested people via pm for obvious reasons.

So, ok, what I had originally is:

I am in possession of a 1988 4x4 with 28k miles, it is in as near mint condition as one is likely to find and, I would like to offer it perhaps through the Panda club.

The reply to my several million questions was:

"Hello Gavin thank you for your response.
1. the car is on the road and MOT yesterday, it was driven into the garage in 1998 and has never been used since. It was recommissioned about 2 months ago when everything necessary was attended to ie new brakes, oil filter etc. and so far as I am concerned it is now completely serviced for however many miles.
2. The body work is excellent and there is no sign of any dreaded rust anywhere and has the benefit of a completely new waxoiled underside. I believe that the bodywork is all original as I cannot find any trace of refurbishment anywhere and all the panels are devoid of any ripples.
3. The car is shod with 5 as new or new snow tyres and I suspect that the spare has never been removed from the car.

When I took it to test the Tester said he used to have "one of these" and that it was unlikely one as good as this would be found anywhere else.
I am based in Halifax West Yorkshire and my price idea is roundabout 3.5K.
Also with the car is a boot full of spares comprising 2 new sections of exhaust, the 3rd back section already having been fitted, headlights and tail lights and several useable items. Also wrapped up I believe there to be a roof rack and towbar/ball kit.
The colour of the car is grey.
If anyone is looking for a car of this condition and quality they would certainly not be disappointed in coming to have a look and, if they were, I would be more than happy to pay their petrol money home.
Any more questions and I would be more than happy to answer them on my telephone number"

If it was local I'd be looking at it........... (y)

Edit: I was hoping it was just down the road & he wanted £500...........

Sounds amazing, nice to see there are still some low mileage cars out there.
I may well be interested, although I am going to look at a FWD tomorrow as I couldn't find a 4X4 in time.
I suppose I could have 2 as they don't take up much room. :)

Could I have his details please if nobody else has snapped it up already.

By 'eck, reminds me of the 1987 model one I owned in 1997. Always regretted selling that.

It is, we're going to look at it on Monday. :D

It does look nice I must admit VmanC . Good start to your honeymoon :slayer:

I would ask what you would do with it, but that's a fairly pointless question! :D

I have promised no more Panda's in 2015 - I have no more room. Sadly this New Year's resolution (while sticking to the letter of it, as at 23rd Jan  ) may be rendered a little pointless as I think I've accidentally pretty much agreed to buy another mk1 Uno. :bang: You've got to laugh haven't you???!!!!

Think of it as a wedding present to ourselves. ;)
