I'm the new proud owner of this little beauty.
Bodywork looks amazing apart from the panel where the hatch locks into ( photos to follow) does anybody make a replacement panel?

I'll look at removing the graphics as some are peeling, but the wheel trims seem to be original, can't decide whether to keep them or refurb the wheels and leave bare.

Ideas more than welcome.

Any interest in a running resto thread?

I'd be intersted in seeing a resto thread. I want to see those graphics consigned to a dustbin so they can't harm humanity again.

Most Marbellas of that era just had centre caps on the wheels like this one.

I pick it up Thursday then the work can begin... Slowly.
Definitely graphics first and then remove the emulsion paint patches to see what's under there.

Will start new thread upon collection.

Fits perfect. You did say executive, right?

Wow, not seen one of those for a while! That was executive compared to the Nova saloons my brother had as company cars - horrible gawky things (all white, with no extras), most got thrown into ditches and trees where he worked (literally, they did 6 in a month, before the bosses read the riot act!!) - I never worked out if that was desperation or a feature of the road holding. :D

Red circle talk on the blue rectangle forum, we're gonna get shot down for this!

Yes it's like an Astra with an ugly bit welded on the back. As far as the Novas go, a friend had a 5-door saloon which he dropped a 2 litre cavalier engine in. It went like a scalded cat until the wheel came off doing a speed considerably more than 70, it subsequently ended up as part of the scenery.

Oops yes, we're on a Seat thread aren't we! ;)

I think that's exactly what the Belmont (exotic name!) was - an Astra with a lump welded into the back! Wonder if all the Nova saloons got smashed - that one met a warrior's death at least. (y)

It seems now, as Novas are becoming very sought after and prices have sawed for the 3-door hatches, the saloons are making a come back. Especially on the RAT scene, giving the VAG boys a run for their money - which is very much fine with me!

There's one just round the corner from me - down on the ground & looks like the scrappie rejected it. Looks hideous, but someone took ages to get it looking like that.....

Don't get this making cars rusty stuff. I spend most of my time trying to stop them looking like that! Having said that, it looks good on a late 50's Chevvy/Plymouth with fins, or an earlier Mercury Leadsled - those are in my fantasy garage...... What is this thread about?
