There will be enough of us soon to be able to have a classic only meet locally ;)

At the risk of going off topic (can't believe it's still ON topic really!!), did you say there was summat car related Buckingham way on New Year's Day scout ? I'm stupidly busy with work & this might be an opportunity to get a break for a day (and has the added bonus of meaning I can't be roped into visiting family.... )! :slayer:

Yes, there's a new years day meet for classic cars at Stony Stratford.

Hi John.

Glad I posted it up now as it has gone to a good home.
I sadly miss my Y10 Gtie as everyone seems to want one.
Please keep posting here as we all love the little beasties.

Especially on topics like :-How does it go Mr?

Hi All,

Well as of a few hours ago I'm now the proud owner of this little beastie! I've longed for a Lancia Y10 Turbo, ever since I had the opportunity to drive one back in 1988. This one has an interesting history and was originally bought by the current owner from a Bonhams sale where it fetched £1500, it had been store in a barn for years and was covered in thick dust and hadn't run for years, being sold as a non runner. Over the past two years varoius parts were sourced and replaced to get it up and running again! It needs work to get it concours, but that's my intention, something to preen and dote on for a few years! Underneath is solid as a rock, but theres just a few dings and a small patch of rust on the lower passenger door.

Please don't ask me what I paid as I'm trying to erase that from memory. however, I look at it this way, I've got what I have wanted for years and years.

If you want to know anything about it just shout, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions. When I have it in tip top original condition I'll be sure to take it to a few of the events In time to come.

Cheers

John

Well done and welcome to the forum!

Gosh the Y10s are coming thick and fast now! Rofl

Good to see it too :)

Hello again Y10erians!

Well I'm begining to do my home work now around how to get my little beastie back to as original as possible. I'm a purist and so for me it has to be as near to the factory spec as poss. I'm quite fond of the non period lancia wheels though!

Please can anyone help me with the below I'm looking to source the following parts;

Original stereo (would have been a Grundig) fitted to this car.
Don't have the handbooks, so desperately looking for the car stereo book, handbook and anything else like the maps, dealers, etc oh and the original plastic wallet.

I would be so grateful for any help!

Can't help with the handbooks unfortunately but you might want to contact Trevor Nicosia nyssa7 he is only 10 mile up the road from you. He is the "Y10 Advisor" for the Lancia Motor Club and has been an invaluable source of y10 parts and cars for a number of us over the years. He is also the owner of the Yntergrale

Fantastic another Y-10 in the fold welcome :waves:

It will be fantastic to get all four Y10's together for a photo call sometime - or even better on a stand opposite the Lancia owners club (who ignore the y10's existence it seems) at some show!

Long live the Poshest of Pandas :D

Current Y10s in here that I can think of

1 x GTie
1 x Fila
1 x Fire LX
1 x Turbo
1 x Turbo/GTie Race Car
1 x Yntergrale

Nice they are all different :D

Always up for a show and photo shoot

If anyone knows the whereabouts of my metallic grey Gtie Reg No G250WRX I would love to know.
Lat seen in Nottingham a couple of years ago.

Hi John, that's good news, it stays local to me. I went over and had a look last week, its nice but not what I was looking for, Didn't want to spend any time fixing the (admittedly very few) imperfections and am currently more "car rich" than "cash rich". Had in mind some possible deals before I looked but I didn't want it enough to offer my Boxster in trade for example. Was more intrigued that it had escaped my knowledge completely given my role as Y10 Advisor for the Lancia Motor Club

Expected it to sit there for a while tbh depending on how flexible the final price turned out to be. Small amount of work and you have a guaranteed concours win at this years LMC AGM!

I do indeed, I have the ex-Peter Dietsch blue one stashed away, although given that I sold him the engine (did the RAC Rally in 1993), gearbox (std), brakes (Wilwood) and suspension (can't remember what it was, but not stock) figure more of the car was mine than his anyway :)

Its a bit rusty underneath, hence will need to be a reshell into my J reg Selectronic one day, when my son is ready to do the donkey work perhaps?

Hi Trevor, well i hope it'll turn out top notch, but first i have to find the parts. Speaking of which it's great to hear that you're the aficionado on Y10's. I'll try not to bombard you with too many questions! Do you by any chance know the exact model of Grundig stereo they fitted to the Y10 back in 1985? I have found a K-reg car with a WKC 3802 unit, but i imagine that this is more modern than the one that was originally fitted to mine? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I imagine i'll just have to go with the nearest ting i can find?
