finally managed to cure the high temprature, and get the oil changed.

well i think i have managed to cure the high temp, as the radiator had some air trapped, but thats ok now (hopefully).

the real pain was the oil change, the sump plug took FOUR HOURS to take out, and needed the help of my dad, and the filter was like it was welded to the car, i applied so much force with the filter strap that i buckled the filter the only way i could take it off is by ramming a screw driver through the filter and using brute force.

thankfully the selecta is now running on good 15/40 mineral oil with a body coloured filter , and will be getting some Slick 50 soon.

My oil filter was the same. Had to force it off with a lot of effort. It may well have been the original filter though, it was very dirty and can't have been replaced within a reasonable time for it to be so stuck.

Since the change it's run much better and isn't using much at all. When changing the rocker cover gasket I also noticed the oil was doing a very good job at clinging to the engine too.

I really should give mine a good service before uni kicks off.
