What Do we have to do to achieve serious cult status with our Pandas?
Are there enough of us left and do we have to get more organised?

By the way, I don't know why surfers all have vw Beetles - The Panda 4x4 is much more ideally suited for getting on and off the beach and having a surfboard strapped to the roof!

well i found this a couple of days ago, and i am ripping the guts out of it... hopefully i can get some items on a car that has been exposed to a lot less road salt and has done 30,000 miles less than mine.

Take as much of it as you can!
well I'm off to a good start with the interior... panda mudflaps (got panda written on them no less) front bumper with brackets... matching airfilter/carb, oil filler cap and timing belt cover. I shall make another trip and sort out the under bits like petrol tank straps and omega axle maybe next time.

Make sure you take the wiper motors, carb, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, Windscreen washer pump(s), Rear light clusters, front indicator lenses, sump if any good and petrol sender unit. Also, check if the hubs have been replaced (this often happens on salt-damaged models). If they have ... grab them !
A spare steering rack is always useful and very easy to remove; and don't forget as many UJ/CV/bearings as you can !!
Front wheel discs and dampers ? (especially if they have 7 coil springs). (y)

My 'doner' is black too... Weird

Do black ones die younger????

or is it that little old ladies don't do black ones???

I think it is about the only colour a young buck might think it looks cool in... and promptly behaves like an idiot ... this one has got a bog side dent, which lets face it only happens when you think your car is much faster then it really is...

that's quite list!... not sure i want to grab all of that stuff... especially as the chassis is on tires at the moment... the front disks and hubs etc are stripped to the drive shaft but the rears are there until the drums... and in much better condition that my crunchy fried versions.

other option is to buy a whole car that's the same model and year....

(as your selecta is one of the last pandas made it will have loads of improvements from the days when pandas where much more popular, I.e. Late 80's early 90s)

Ah c'mon ... I'm working me way down a litre of Paddy's that the son-in-law brought over today. :D
