But I like having airbags and electric windows etc, lol!

You can get all that stuff from scrappers in italy, they come up on ebay too. I am going to Italy this year for a holiday and plan to bring back some good rare stuff :)

I wont bother with air conditioning though, I dont really see the point in a panda, got twin sunnies as well so really not required in the summer.

Panda with airbag - yes,
Panda with electric windows - yes,

I'll stick with my lovely Grande Punto, lol! :)

Nah: I wouldn't even buy a previous model Panda, due to the 3 star ncap rating!

It's very easy to forget that for 90 odd years none of this safety stuff existed, and not everyone was killed in their cars.

Nothing inherently wrong with a mk2 Panda which probably wouldn't get any stars - it stops properly & corners properly, and even crashes ok based on some pics we've seen of accidents people walked away from.

There's a good argument for everyone driving cars with a big spike in front of them - might improve concentration levels, and boy does that need doing!!

Don't get me wrong, if I'm going to have a big accident I hope it's in my Abarth (Punto), which will become a bouncy castle. I hope more that I won't have an accident in the first place though. (y)

Don't worry, you'll come round to the idea of a MK2 Panda if you stay here long! You don't believe it, but it's happened to dozens before you...... ;)

Everyone who comes here either leaves really quickly or stays and has a panda within a couple months, myself included, went from 125bhp Citroen C2 GT to twin sunnie 45bhp fiat panda parade

Best change I ever made cars wise, this is the best club in the world to be in for friendly helpful people.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love classic cars, but not as much as I love my Grande Punto Eleganza. I only intend parting with that to buy another Punto, once it's seen better days. :)

Don't forget I'm only 24, and have been a passionate Fiat driver for over 4.5 years!

My daughter is 18 and the classic panda is her daily driver  . it's never to early to drive a classic.

My only advice is, if your fighting the need for classic pandas in your life, DON'T drive one or borrow one as that is when they are at their most contagious. A burning desire to own one of the little blighters takes hold and that can only be quelled by actually buying one yourself.

Happy Fiat motoring
