Hi guys been away for awhile but now I am cracking on with the panda, I have a problem with the front wiper it turns on but when I go to turn it off it just keeps going till I turn the engine off... It's like a game turning it off at the bottom of the windscreen, anybody had this problem? Thanks Ben

Haven't had that problem, and I am sure someone more qualified will be along to help, but the first things I would do would be to check the multiplug connection to the motor, and remove and clean the earths to the hedgehogs inside the engine bay of the car (in front of and slightly below the battery is one, and behind the front passenger headlamp is another.) because it sounds like a dodgy connection/earth to me.

Thanks for the reply, I will try what you said over the weekend and hope it solves it :)

I have the same issue - cleaning the earths did nothing. I believe that it may be an issue with the intermittent relay overheating and sticking on. That will be my next port of call.

I've got exactly the same issue, hoping you get to the bottom of it and can spread the word! Chris(y)

Does anybody have a wiper relay I can buy?? Desperate need as it's going for mot next week ?

Its not going to help your problem mate but it wont fail an mot cos they do work. If you are really lucky they may even suggest a solution, or fix it????

Having thought about this for 2 more minutes it probably is a relay. To find out which one once you have found some they go click when they are energised. Probs feel it with a finger. Sorry I cant be of help, new to Panda ownership. Nowt wrong with mine so I have no idea where fuse box is or relays...........

Yeah I'm sure it's the second one in from the right... can't get hold of one anywhere... they do work they just don't turn off which is annoying more than anything.... with it being 9 amp relay.. could I not just put a bigger one say 30 amp? As this is all I can find ??

Does it come back on if you start the car straight away? I'm just wondering whether it's getting stuck and then releasing when it cools down a bit or else if it is something maintaining the trigger voltage and stopping it deactivating. I've 'fixed' stuck relays before by drowning them in WD40 but probably best to just get another one.

I'm not sure.... well if the stalk is in the off position when I turn the car on it will stay off so I don't think it's that... it's just when I flick the wipers on they won't go off... I might have to get a 30 amp relay from Halfords tonight and try thay

It may be the stop point on the wiper motor that has warn out. Mine did this but I didn't repair it, an auto electrician did. He said he had to dismantle the motor in order to fix the issue. It didn't take him long and wasn't costly at all, if you are electrically minded maybe have a look into this area for a fix.

Only slightly annoying this issue but my wiper parks on the wrong side for RHD car, ie right in front of my nose. Can this be adjusted? Also put some petrol in it last week for the first time and I swear the two birds in the car at the next pump were laughing at me.......... Grrrr,,,,,,,,,, its not as if its pink ffs!

Looks like you need to inspect the wiper motor large gear with tracks on.
All symptoms indicates that there might be broken track or few are shorting out to adjacent ones.
Have you got electric diagram to follow i.e. Haynes?
