As most of you know, my New Year resolution not to buy any more Panda's failed miserably in September, when Perry the Selecta was closely followed by the scraggy red one (mk3 4x4).

Anywho, I bought a pack of 3 full HPI checks as it was cheaper than buying 2 separately! :nutter:

In a desperate bid to avoid buying anything else, my 3rd HPI check is available if anyone wants to check out their prospective purchase. I forget exactly when I bought it (but can check), but the 3rd one only lasts 3 months (what a con!) before self destructing! I'd rather not waste it, as someone on here might be planning to pay £19.99 for one.

Give me a shout if you need it - I'm happy for anyone in this section to have it FOC, as a reward for your good taste in having a mk1/2 Panda. (y)

Ahhh well as it happens it is not far from you, just awaiting confirmation from the seller when it has an MOT and tax so I can test drive it.

It's not the one you were telling me about on Sunday is it?

Wrong colour but I may do a swapsies with you if you ask nicely! :D

You mean the one needing work? No.

I wondered if you were tempted by this one, but clearly it's the wrong colour! I'm sure thus one was on Ebay or Auto Trader (maybe both) a few weeks ago, but at a much higher price. It's possible I'm confusing it with another, but the location & loads of pics makes me think it was. There are loads of pictures - why is it now so cheap though? Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing, but best to know why..... (y)

P.S. It can't come with 12 months tax - it will have none & based on the state of the DVLA website you will be lucky to be able to retax it before Christmas!!

It's from a forumer on here and at this point getting it off the drive seems to be the name of the game, they didn't want the hassle of tax/insurance/mot hence the price from what I can gather by talking to the owner.

there are a couple of 3k ones near me I might have a butchers at but twice the price for the same car.....

TAx check does not work as well, all busted. I wonder gov.uk predicted this?

That's what I meant - it's all TARFU probably more FUBAR.

No one in the Government or DVLA will have predicted it. I'll correct that, no one in charge will have predicted it. Everyone on the front line would know, and probably went off sick today to avoid it! I also knew it would happen (based purely on 16 years working for a Govt Dept). A classic case of BOHICA :bang:

It needs to be Mot'd or you can't assess the condition, particularly from York. Don't need tax/insurance to do that - get the mot place to pick it up as they can use their insurance. Once it's Mot'd you can arrange your own insurance to get it home - you'll have to battle with the new system for taxing it anyway as the seller can't do it any longer.

The alternative is for you to insure it & then take it to an mot - you don't need tax or mot to go to a prebooked mot. Trouble is you're paying to insure something that might turn out to be a bag of nails (though it looks ok, I have to say).

fixed that for you!

The seller is going to mot and insure so it can be test driven. I meant to mention to the vendor about the mot place using their insurance but forgot!

Hopefully by next week the car tax site will have been sorted out.

Don't fancy saving me 8 hours of travelling and giving it the once over for me do you? Palio

We'll at least if it's insured someone can test drive it on their 3rd party extension. (y)

Where is it exactly? Not sure it's that close to me - the multi map places it past Dunstable (which is about 45mins away) - is that right? Problems would be finding time, and having no perceivable mechanical ability - I guess I could manage the basic look round like you could, and see whether it felt ok on the road - might depend when it's Mot'd and when it would need to be looked at - seller wouldn't have it Mot'd in Risborough I suppose, as Steve would give it the once over for you while it was on the ramp - bit too far to do that I suppose.....

Yep Dunstable! postcode lu55bj I'm not too concerned about crawling all over and around it, just a confirmation that it is what it is and has no obvious faults on driving it. Seller said they would contact me when it's MOT'd. It would be nice tohavea second opinion though!
If I drive down to see it I won't be tempted to buy it just because I don't want to spend 6hrs coming home on a train.
I will certainly detour to yours for a cuppa though ;)
I was meant to have two days off this week bu have worked half of today and going to sunny Bradford tomorrow - I know - living the dream!
