Hi to all, lost Speedo readings last week, followed previous threads, detached from behind instrument cluster. No movement at that end when driving so presume need new cable.

Tried Local Fiat dealer in colchester, discontinued, no response from breakeryard or spares 24/7. Anyone know anywhere they may ve available for a 92 clx or is it a send it to speedy cable for them to make a copy job? Seems bit unneccessary but are there none out there?

Mamy thanks, Geoff

Hmmm yeah, good question. Do post up on here if you have any luck on ebay.it...

I have been looking for a while and have a friend looking for one in Spain.

I think the fiat part number is 46444815 (my friend found this but I have not got it yet so cannot check if fitment is ok).

To be fair i've quickly got used to it not being there, speedings not usually a problem. Mot next month tho.

It's not tested at the mot. It will fail if the speedo is obviously broken or missing, but with a failed cable they won't know (if you don't tell them!). I had a 127 pass an mot for years with no working speedometer.

Might take the pressure off at least if you can't find one straight away. (y)

New speedo cable has been fitted and we have MPH again, after initial panic when I realised it is about a foot shorter than the original and wouldn't go "around" the ventilation box a crafty reroute under it saved the day.

Cheers,

Geoff
