And this...

Well...

...It's that time again! The Yorkshire Dales are calling all Pandarers for another adventure into the northern wilderness.

Once again, this is an introductory thread to get numbers together and suggest dates, I will save alot of the weekends' detail until I get the proper event thread up.

So this time we're changing things around a bit and keeping it a little more local with less miles to cover, but still enjoying some of the best driving roads in the country and a whole lot more 4x2-friendly green laning! We'll have a Saturday's jaunt along the black stuff visiting various points of interest and enjoying the amazing scenery, then a Sunday hitting the hills and dales - and not forgetting ending the whole weekend with a bit of play time, though this time I'm planning it to be a little different :)

Local overnight accommodation is a plenty around here so if anyone has a fair distance to travel they can come up and enjoy the whole weekend without the worry of doing the extra milage. When the dates are finalised I will provide suggestions of accommodation and prices in the area. If anyone would like the check the milage on an internet-based mapping program or indeed a satnav the meeting point for the weekend will be Masham, North Yorkshire.

I am suggesting the following weekends, I would love it if as many could attend as last time, but I understand alot of people will already be booked up. I will ultimately make the decision based on the most popular available weekend but this will inevitably mean some people will not be able to join in.

THE DATES:-

1. Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September.

2. Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September.

3. Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September.

I would like it if (amongst the discussion) we can keep a bit of a table going saying the weekend number(s) that you will be able to attend on...

Copy & Paste please (y)

Not definite as an attendee, but can only make the last weekend. 13/14th it's the Isle of Wight show (all booked), and 20/21st it's the Kop Hill climb 100 yards up the road from me! (y)

I really don't know about dates though I'll do my best to attend whatever gets decided upon.
I'll hopefully have to come from the West Riding - just on the right side of the Pennines ;)

Great news Thanks Andy. My girls were both immediate "Yes'es" when I floated this. - So you're doing plenty right mate.
Thanks to aquamarine's tip I've got a new under gearlever gaitor, so may I request a ford please - in order to justify the purchase.

We'll return to the pub's accommodation in preference to the pod I think.
Cheers.

Excellent guys

As I said, I'm planning on changing it about a little on the Saturday, full details to follow. But aslong as it doesn't rain it will be alot of fun. We'll be visiting a couple of points of interest along our drive, stopping to take in some of the magnificent scenery found in this local area. If it does rain there's a plan to fall back on, but it will involve a small entry fee  This is completely optional though, we can always just stay in the cars and have a drive about :)

I'm so tempted to buy myself a Jimny or a Shogun Pinin automatic -- and stick a FIAT badge on the bonnet... -- just so I can come and join in the fun. (They come with aircon, you know...!) Worried that one of the Pandas would have to tow me out of a ditch, though....

Grrrrr. Stoopid neck.... :bang:

Number 3's looking good! :slayer:

Oh yeah that's what it's shaping up for! Gav you going to come in the Sisley if you can make it?
homeward you are more than welcome to come along and ride in mine, it's got new suspension and the seats have had it - you'll never feel a thing!! I can put your name on the list for you if you'd like? :D

You don't actually need a 4x4 for Andy's weekend. I didn't use 4wd Sat or Sun for the main event - only right at the end on the off-road playground (but tbh the little bit I did probably didn't need 4wd anyway).

If you want to go up and share driving I'm happy to go via Punto/Panda/Uno auto - there's always spare seats for the Sunday if the car's too nice to risk on the tracks!

Well maybe, but see the post above!

Howie should cope better now, as he's got a more normal ground clearance now that Vern's done the shocks for me. He's sitting about the same as other 4x4's even with 3 tons of iron sitting on the front! (y)

We always manage to post simultaneously Gav!

That is a very noble offer - Stephen as he says there will be seats available whatever you choose, it'd be great to have you along!

Not sure what I'll be in, tempeted to bring the Mk1, but might play it safe and bring the Landy again, saying that there a couple of suitable 4x4s for sale at the moment, mk3 4x4s are getting cheap aswell:chin:

I wouldn't want you running either of yours on the trails Freddy, although I know you can drive the tracks very wellI would be heartbroken if anything happened to them! Plus we are going to need the entertainment of the Landy, when it gets stuck ya know ;)
