Ok, so as some of you have probably noticed for the last 4 months or so I have been talking about getting a sisley, the savings have been difficult so far with my wedding coming up, and as some of you know I had to empty my sisley fund about a month ago to get further with my shed project and house repairs. However, there shouldnt be any further interruptions to it, so by this time next year (hopefully sooner) I should have the funds together for a sisley. I am very mindful that if I dont get one soonish then the prices for them will continue to rise at such a rate as to make it unaffordable to me/I wouldnt be able to justify the expenditure.

So the purpose of this post? Well to cut a long story short I want to publicly state that I categorically will put every bit of effort possible into my savings for my sisley (as well as all the other house repair things to save for etc) and the fact that I have told all of you who I consider peers, friends and people worthy of respect will motivate me to continue this course of action when things get difficult for me financially. I love learning about the psychology behind finance, and I believe that this will help me stay the course. I also want to specify exactly the type of Sisley I am looking for, and hopefully if anyone spots one nearer the time (I will announce when I am ready to buy on this thread) they could help me out by pointing me in the direction of it.

Features I would like for my ideal, (and I intend to hold out for this):
*I want the Turquoise green colour (its my favourite sisley colour, and my dads uno was a very similar colour)
*Front Bullbars
*Rear Light guards
*Colour coded bonnet scoop
*Sisley Dash and belts
*Roof bars (I am not too fussy about the type, but would like the side ones rather than the cross body ones)
*All sisley badges and decals on the outside including the wheel caps (obviously if one comes up without some of these I may consider trying to source from elsewhere)
*I am not looking for a project, but if work needs done then I will take into consideration.
*A pre 92 model so I do not need to sit the CAT test at mots, the revving the Tester had to do to PTP nearly broke my heart, I kept wanting to stop him, wayyyy too hard :(

Things that would be nice, but not essential (and things I plan to get to complete the car)
*rear hinged bullbar
*A panda Van rear that I could swap between this and the standard boot (not sure on the possibility of this, but will look into)
*A set of @VmanC rock slider/side bars to complete the look.
*A sumpguard/plate from aforementioned panda wizard
*Twin Sunnies

So there we are, I hope noone views this as a null thread, and if it breaks some sort of rule then I apologise and the mods can delete, but I just want to put this out there to show folks what I am thinking and to be clear what I mean when I am commenting on sisley pages :)

Well done for putting this up on here! If it helps to motivate you and gets a few of us on board to help look out for you than that can only be a good thing (y) I think you've made a good decision putting the funds you already had into a bigger garage, you'll be very glad of it when you do get a second (or third ;)) panda!

When you say turquoise green do you mean the agadir blue like Gavin's and the one I had but let go?

Good luck with it all and I'll keep an eye out for you :D

You're setting the stick preety high mate,

Good for you, clear objectives- actually I know where exact one (as described above) lives. Will let you know my findings.

Thanks for the nice words guys :) As I said I will be ready in about a years time I reckon, and am working as hard as I can towards this without jeaopard... jep... stopping the savings for other more essential things!

Cheers guys, and yeah I mean the agadir blue, I didnt know its name! I wonder if the uno was the same colour?

EDIT

After a quick google unless I am very much mistaken it is exactly the same colour :)

Rock slider and sumpguard request noted. (y)

Having a thread for a project always helps with the motivation so why shouldn't it help in getting the right car in the first place, good idea!

It may be useful to get some of those accessories before you even have the car, some of them don't show up very often so you need to grab them when you can. The roof bars are available new at the moment for example.

Thanks chaps :)

I have thought about that when I have seen some of the items for sale, but then I thought "but what If I buy a panda which already has these" but I suppose I could sell them on if need be, good idea Vern Cheers!

Excellent taste but a very rare car.
Maybe consider buying it when it appears and if neccesary use finance to bridge the gap rather than search for two years and loose interest and excitement in the process..
But there's nothing like the thrill of the chase. Enjoy the anticipation they are lovely, quite special cars and won't disappoint.

Good luck with the quest Cameron! The right one will come up for you at some point - it did for me :)

I hope so, thanks Andy :)

Thanks man, I know that this is a very rare car I am looking for, but that makes it more exciting! The other option for me is buying a Sisley that doesn't have the extras I am looking for and trying to find the extras to make up the car. It all just depends what is available come the time when I am in the vicinity of the kind of money we are talking about. If I was close to the kind of money I am sure I would find a way to make it happen if the right car came up, so I absolutely get what you are saying there.

I've just noticed you have twin sunnies on your list too! I've only ever seen 2 Sisleys with twin sunnies, the red one on ebay I while back and my one I had to get rid of a few months back  the worst thing is I got rid of it as I had nowhere to keep it and work on it and within a month of it leaving we decided to sell up and move to Devon where I'll have lots of space

Twin sunnies arent essential but are very useful. That looks like a lovely example Jamie!

They always look better in photos! It needed lots of work but the new owner has been replacing all the rusty panels with new genuine fiat panels that he had from years ago. I can't wait to see it finished, but will be gutted though that I couldn't do it..

Anyone done a twin sunnie conversion?
It doesn't look impossible to cut the centre roof section out and fit a holy one, neatly..

It's something I've thought about before and probably will end up doing one day! I'd have to find a pretty rotten or damaged twin sunnie though as I wouldn't want to cut up a good one (y)
