interesting read, why not sue him? you got his address and full name, go to the laywer, he will have to show up on court or other option is to flee the country

You don't even need a lawyer, www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

I'm currently in the process of taking someone to court over owed money , it's all done online , got a hearing in September :slayer:

court system is real slow tho, got a buddy who damaged the tip of his finger with a machine similar to a round saw, first he asked for 2k from the employer as a compensation, boss ofcourse said he wont give him any money, then he sued him for 8k, few hearings outside of court were conducted to try to negotiate the terms with both parties, employer started making up stuff, falsifying signatures..., to put a long story short - that was over 3 years ago and he called me today that first court date is set for september this year

Any news?

Yeah compensation cases do take longer but money claims are a bit quicker

I started proceedings in early February , if they don't mediate with me by the end of August and arrange an outcome the case will be heard this September so 7 months in all , and in my case £290 in costs (n) so I can be done fairy quickly tbh

Any good news?
He did not reply to my questions on eBay about a sump guard for a 4x4...

Good luck with the case. I hope you get your recompense.
I hope the situation is better than I had about 15 years ago, I stupidly volunteered to be Treasurer for the local Cubs / Scout group. We used to hire the scout hut out for other clubs so that we could raise a bit of extra cash to pay for equipment etc. One of our "tenants" was a karate club. The guy was always weeks behind with his rent even though the club had a big membership for two sessions a week. It got to the point where they owed the scouts hundreds of pounds, so I sued him on behalf of the scouts. I followed the procedure to the letter at the time and pusrued him through the small claims court as it was called.
He didn't contest the case and we of course won.
The only problem was the bloke just disappeared with our County Court Judgement against his name (plus several others no doubt) and we never saw a penny.
I think that is called a pyrrhic victory?

well that was an interesting read... thought i'd have a look in here as it was a sticky

No money or parts were ever received I'm afraid, no idea if the seller is still trading but he's still active on Facebook. I haven't had a look on Google maps recently though to see if the farm is still littered with classics..
