Autotrader is asking for people to select their iconic cars of the last five decades... -- and the Panda is one of the 1980s ones (of course...)! (y)

Not much incentive, I suppose, to us Panda nuts, but you could always exchange the prize (a Mk7 Golf GTI) against a handful of Selectas, Sisleys, and Supers (and a big garage to store them in...). ;)

Drove a new mini cooper and really can't see what the fuss is about??

My dad bought a Capri 2.0 laser new from the dealers...told him I thought it was rubbish straight away. Hated the way it drove.

Two opinions from an opinionated person....

Vote for a Golf and win a Panda would be a much better idea - I'd force myself to vote for it.......:devil:
 
Where's the 127 for the 70's and why isn't the Mini in the 60's? :confused: The 90's seem to be the decade taste forgot - Corsa!!!!!??? :rolleyes:

Anywho mine are:

80's Fiat Panda (several other good choices there though)
90's Subaru Impreza (lack of anything else!)
00's Fiat 500
10's Jag F-Type
 
I wasn't alive for most of the these but I voted anyway, glad the Panda made the 80's shortlist for a start. Corsa?? :confused:

Some wierd choices for the shortlists. How is the Land Rover Defender a 70s icon when it's been on sale pretty much constantly in one form or another since just after the war:confused: and the E30 M3, 90s? And if you're going to have the Quattro in the 80s and Impreza in the 90s then surely you need the Mk2 Escort in the 70s.

and bad news!..... no Dacia Sandero!

Anyway, my votes in:
70s - Capri
80s - Golf Gti (only kidding)
90s - Impreza (wife had one)
00s - ....erm...nope. Can't even remember.... Ah! Rover 75 (immortalised in Midsomer Murders)

Rover 75 :ROFLMAO: good reason!! Actually the SD1 would have been better, or the P6, or the Metro - :eek: sorry no not that :eek:

Here are my picks of the correct best Fiat for each decade. Discuss ;)

1950's Fiat 500
1960's Fiat 128 narrowly beating the 124 saloon
1970's Fiat 127 and I'm unanimous in that Mrs Slocome
1980's Fiat Panda with the Uno runner up
1990's Fiat Coupe with the Mk1 Punto runner up
2000's Fiat Multipla
2010's Mk4 Panda - it's a cracker if you forgive its roundness!

Mostly agree, however IMO the X1/9 is better than the 127. And the Cinquecento is 2nd only to the Coupé for the 90's

Call that off topic! Not really trying by the standards of round here.
Does the Dino count? although I'm liking your choices anyway. Possibly a nice broom yellow Cinq sporting for the 90s?
