Ah ok , the pug tb is around 50mm so a big difference just need to make a throttle cable mount but that shouldn't be a problem.

I would use the 1242 16v thottle body as it is the same bore as the tjet one:cool:

Yeah thats exactly what I was wondering looks to me as if it will but no one seems to have actually done it that I can find.

;) It fits to the engine fine. however in a classic panda its all a bit tight:rolleyes:

Ah very interesting I presumed it would be alot smaller being the 1.2 manifold, but if thats the case may aswell use it cheers ?

Really?
I prefer the pre-cat emission tests.

Mmmm yeah. Good point lol. Just more work is all.

This was my thinking with Char' too, '92 means she will never need a CAT (also means on a cold morning the exhaust fumes can stink up the whole street whilst on choke mind...)
More power can be squeezed out without that pesky CAT in the way (y)

Been slow progress lately , but have been slowly collecting more t-jet parts for the turbo conversion. Then had the 13x7 wheels shot blasted and have given 2 of them a few coats of primer.

Small update , finally managed to get my wheels painted and tyres fitted seems to have given me a new love for the car.

Also ordered my fittings for oil lines for the turbo and coolant lines. Awaiting delivery of my decat downpipe happy days :)

Tasty! :slayer:

I have a slightly crooked neck from looking at them, but it was totally worth it :D

My new lease of love for the panda has resulted in removal of the original engine and gearbox.

So hopefully over the next few weeks I will have the 1.4 turbo in the hole :)

Managed to sneak a few hours this week and a few more parts arrived ?

Firstly I purchased a tjet solid flywheel for a bargain price to allow me to fit the 200mm stilo clutch rather than the 180mm clutch of the panda which would cause a few issues later.

Also while on a the spending spree managed to source a new tjet water pipe from the rear of the pump , which allow me to connect up my coolant line for the turbo as it incorporates a fitting.

Also purchased a new panda alternator and had a friend machine up some spacers to align the pulley with the 16v .

I then stripped out the clutch fork from the box as it had done a good job of siezing up from laying around , what an arse it was to free off without damaging the nylon bush. After that was free decided to unite the panda box to the 16v which went well until I tried to turn the engine over?.

Which I discovered the bigger pressure plate fouled on the bell housing at the diff , so removed the excess metal from it to allow clearence . Which after a few more trial fits I had clearence ?

My next stumbling block was the starter motor which I found the 16v starter locates with 2 bolts the third hole will need drilled. I did try the panda starter but the amount that needed to be trimmed was time consuming and the 16v starter is lighter so abanded that route

Not had much time as of late but still progressing . Have sorted out a better front brake setup incase I do the odd trackday for the bannter. New front brakes consist of discs sourced from the newer panda solid discs being 240mm diameter . Then using the 4 pot willwood powerlite calipers and custom adapters I had made up from a friend. These have a slightly larger surface area than the original calipers so will have more power but a slightly longer brake pedal travel.

On the engine front things have also progressed will add more info shortly ☺
