hi, ive got a panda 4x4 1.0L and i off road it. i have been told that a VW polo g40 clutch is the same ... i need a stronger clutch for off roading but i dont know wot other clutch will fit. any one else heard the same thing ? cheers

Never heard of that but it may be true. The Seat Terra van which is Panda based uses a Polo diesel engine so the VW clutches could well fit.
A Punto clutch may fit but I'm not sure if the splines on the input shaft are the same.
Nothing definate there I'm afraid, but welcome to the forum, and please let us know if you find a suitable upgrade.

What's wrong with the current clutch? If its giving then it needs replacing with another, fit an uprated one and it'll be your gearbox which goes bang before your clutch which will be very costly!

hi. i only put a new clutch in it 700 miles ago. i go out offroading about twice a week and i have pulled out vitaras and sj's with it. i just want a stronger clutch so i dont have to worrie about burning it out soo much ...

Think you may have to do the detective work yourself, I'm not aware of chat of other clutches working, and even if they do that they're stronger. Probably best to go to a motor factor and ask to look at a couple side by side. Let us know what you find out!

this is a guess, but would one from off the 1.4 FIRE engine fit? its got to be a larger clutch....

hi. that is a fair point. ive only had my panda for 3 months so dont realy know alot about them. i dont surpose you know of a numberplate reg of a 1.4 fire that i can give to my local car parts dealer. i need the number plate so they car find the car on their system. cheers

I managed to pick up a brand new 3 peice clutch kit on Ebay for £12.

Not a dodgey make either. Total, £20 delivered; what a bargain.

Do I feel smug? ......... Nah I've paid over the odds for loads of other stuff.
