Hi, I've searched all over for a method for removing and installing the fuel pump assembly. I've managed to get the unit out of the tank via the access hole under the rear seat. To do so, one of the metal springs had to be disingaged so the sender was able to move around. It just seems the hole isn't big enough to have the whole unit with springs attached to go back in. I can get it in with one spring off but have no way of attaching the spring once the unit is in the tank. Does anybody know of method to get the assembly into the tank fully built?

Did the pump casing lift out or did it have a thread and screw out. Cab't get mine to budge.

They are tight to unscrew. They will normally tap around with a pin punch and hammer, or Laser tools do a universal kit for this type of fitting that allows you to use a socket and ratchet on it.

I couldn't get mine undone ( white plastic ring-nut),
BUT I didn't have the forethought to run the engine with the filler cap out to equalise pressures.. - sent you a link from Punto section,:bang:
