As you may remember whilst not a newcomer to the forum, I am new to the Classic Panda section, having just acquired one. The car is not road legal, so thus far I have been limited to shunting the car on my drive. I have size 10 feet. Did Fiat ever sell a pair of very small shoes as an accessory to wear so that when you want to brake you don't also accelerate at the same time ?! The pedal off-set seems quite extreme!
When I finally do get the little fella back on the road, that is something I am going to have to very careful about.
I would be interested to hear if anybody else had this experience the first time they drove a Panda?

Slightly off-topic: but I had the same problem when first driving my Punto. You soon develop an almost 'reflex' knack of first checking where your feet should be, and then positioning them correctly... -- even after driving a different car. (The Mk3 Panda is a lot better, in this respect....)

What's amusing, though -- sort of... -- is watching others get in, and then rev the thing in neutral: because they think they're pressing the brake, to put it in gear (it's a semi-auto...)! ;)

PS: I also have size tens; and remember that driving an early 4x4 Panda was much easier in a pair of Dunlop Green Flash...! :D

I still do it occasionally, my feet are 11-12, wearing trainers and driving a panda makes life interesting to say the least:rolleyes:

You'll soon get used to it, adjusting the seat helps find a better position for the feet, though I adopt a near lotus position when driving distances:p

Barefoot on the right foot maybe, but definitely need a shoe on the left as the clutch is a bit heavy for such a tiny car!

The clutch shouldn't be all that heavy, unless the cable is on its way out.

I've found some good aftermarket pedal pads that work well. When I fit them, instead of bolting them on centrally on each pedal I offset them to increase the spacing. I also bend (fine tune :p) the clutch and brake pedals so that they are a little further to the left.

I find the panda quite difficult to drive with hard bottom shoes, not impossible just awkward.
