Great news (y)

I managed to get a couple of pink buckets yesterday Vernon, ready for the NEC. I found them in one of those any old rubbish type back-street shops in a horrible part of a horrible nearby town - I thought they were a bit pricy at £1.50 each but when I got to the till it was BOGOF so 2 were that price!! I'm not going to offer to post them for your show though, as it will cost more than that to send :p

I might be able to go to that show though - do you have any more info?

Nice find, will hunt for buckets in Alton this afternoon, ebay was way too expensive!

The Newbury show is organised by the same people that did our Thoresby get together, Andrew Greenwood.

4 pence from the panda keyring I bought has shown up now for me on on the fundraising site, but not the £4.50 for starting the new ebay account? Is it just ebay being slow at coughing up??

Hi Everyone,

The good news is that Pinky The Panda now has a bank account. The bad news is that I had to donate £50 to open it  The even worse news is that I now want all those lovely £50 pledges please! ;)

If anyone is going up to the NEC this weekend, please let either Vernon or me have your money. Cash is fine, or a cheque payable to "Pinky The Panda" please.

If anyone wants to post a cheque to me, or make a direct payment to the bank account, please pm me for details.

Many thanks, Gavin.

P.S. if you don't contact me I'll have to find you all from the other thread & hunt you down....... :p

Thanks everyone who's contacted me. I know I have a few pm's but I am too exhausted to look at these tonight after the Nec - unlike my poor Panda which is no longer exhausted. Look at the Nec thread a bit later to understand what I mean!

We had a lot of positive feedback at the Nec. We raised £66.33 from donations in the buckets plus £20 from Kevin for my spare tickets. (y)

Long way to go but a start.

I did get interest from the editor of Classics Monthly & deputy editor of Practical Classics, so hopefully we can get some publicity from them. We also have a firm willing to clean the alloy engine bits in return for publicity, so that's good too - and in case you wondered no I haven't yet found the paperwork which is why I haven't said their name  - well there are 2 Panda's full of Nec stuff!!!

The money collected was a little disappointing so we may have to get creative with how we raise more. To be fair though the NEC is an expensive place to visit and we shouldn't be surprised that people didn't want to put money in our buckets. We did get a lot of exposure for Pinky from it though, loads of people had their photo taken next to it, most were tongue in cheek :p.

Well done to Gavin for getting the press interested, (y). Pinky is in 'Classic car weekly' this week, a picture and a paragraph as part of a piece previewing the show. We got two copies and Barbara had them autographed by the Wheeler Dealer guys on the relevent page, something else to display with it's trophy when it goes on tour next year :).

Hi Everyone. We are having a few issues with electronic payments - a potential solution is being checked - watch this space.

If anyone has tried to make a payment already please let me know - it may have bounced back to you :bang:

This is why I haven't replied to the recent pm's - no point giving you duff information..............

Palio: I think you may have sussed it... (see my email)! (y)

Everyone else: Please wait, though, until Gavin confirms this...!

Many thanks for your help Stephen ( homeward )

Your payment came through at the third attempt.

homeward now achieves the first Pinky Merit for services rendered and is allowed to use the designation "PM" after his name ;)

Updated instructions will be going out to everyone soon, so please try again if your first automated payment bounced.

I am going to suggest that Stephen's idea of sending an odd amount is a good one too. The payments come through just showing bank credit, so as we are expecting loads (I wish :) ) of £50 donations, maybe others could do the same - £50.11, £50.07, or whatever. Please just let me know when your payment has gone though, as I need to try to work out who's paid

Thanks for bearing with us (y)

Edit: now replied to all the pm's I think - unless you know better...... Going for a lie down in a darkened room now!! ;)
