hi all,

new to pandas!

Anyone know where i would find out the official emissions figures for a 1993 panda 999cc?

Have just bought one and importing into ireland we pay the import tax based on the co2/km but I can't find this info anywhere!

any thoughts gratefully received!

barry :)

The UK car tax system only used CO2 from 2001 so the official stats (DirectGov etc) don't go back to 1993 I'm afraid. The MOT tester's manual gives limits for some mk2 Panda's but not an official figure.

Daft question, but why can't the people charging the import tax tell you? Surely it's not down to you telling them?!

Otherwise you could try asking Fiat, but whether you'll get a sensible answer is a different matter............

Do you have a brochure for the Panda - not sure when Fiat started including emissions info, but might be worth a look if you can find one.

thanks for the reply - in typical Irish style the burden of proof is on me to prove - otherwise it defaults to the highest automatically!!

cheers, Barry

The information you need will be contained on the car's Certificate of Conformity, which the manufacturer *may* be able to supply. Try ringing Fiat UK to see how easy it is to get one based on the VIN number.

Alternatively you could ring VOSA and see if they can help.

Edited to add, there is a VRT Calculator on the revenue's website - VRT Calculator. As there is no CO figure, it seems to use it's own estimate of the Open Market Value.

cant you just take it to any nct centre and get them to get a current reading?
