I took Bianca to Cranleigh classic car show today. The event was bigger than I thought...so parked the panda up and was shocked at how much attention she got.

People really seemed to appreciate the effort that had gone into the resto and loved the fact that it was different to all the usual MG's, Jag's etc.

Usual comments of " you don't see these anymore" and " I used to have one of those, I really miss it... It was great"

So after many photo's taken by these people, especially of the engine bay, I drove home very happy...strange that it has taken all this time to feel happy about the whole resto thing and all it needed to feel proud about the car was to hear the amazement from others...finally I feel Bianca and me have bonded...:)

PH, we were parked next to you in our TR5. We loved your Bianca so much, we went home and searched the web for any Pandas for sale. We came across the one you mentioned on Gumtree in Cardiff and drove down with the cash in our pockets and came back without the cash but in our new Panda.

We're now the proud owner (actually bought for our daughter who will stop by here soon).

She was a time warp car but sadly neglected in the spanner department so spent the whole day fixing brakes, oil, filters, plugs, polish & deep clean. Tomorrow a new cambelt going in and new tyres the day after then it will be ready for the road.

I need to replace the rear offside light lens and also the two trailing arms. Will post separately for the parts but if anyone can help?

Oh, and the rear bumper mounting clips snapped off after minor bump some time ago, does anyone know what glue to use for re-attaching the screw mount clips at the back? I was thinking of using plumbers polypipe solvent glue.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum.

So you've met our recruitment department then! ;)

I have a rear light unit (y)

The polypipe solvent glue sounds like a good idea, would be interested to hear the results if you try it.

VmanC - thanks for the welcome here! How much do you want for the light lens? PM if you prefer.

Dragon Man - again, thanks for the tip. Will get onto that today.

The polypipe adhesive won't work because the bumpers are made out of polypropylene which is oil based plastic.
One usual repair is to drill holes through the bumper and use coach bolts and spacers.
If you want originality then a new bumper is the only answer.

A sane moment rarely comes these days.
Will be wearing a kilt on Monday and a silly OrangeTammershanter.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible
