After dismantling the y10 4wd I saved some bolts and bits from its suspension. Have acid bathed the bolts for front shocks, front wishbones and leafsprings big ones.On friday they'll be ready after galvanisation. Here, after initial acid bath:

Bart, by any chance ( i hope you do), you know the fiat part number for the M12 strud to hub bolt? y10 and panda ePer is showing the wrong one - M10 as fitted to 2wd.

Why not measure an original and then find a local fastener supplier? No need to be ripped off by Fiat for those sorts of things(y)

well, I have found 16237521 to be the part number for 4x2 panda and 15541424 to be the bolt for 4x4, eper do not show any other detals but just the weight of one bolt, and the one for 4x4 is 83 gram and for 4x2 60 gram, so probably it is not the same part, and this 23 gram is a difference between m10 and m12 bolt :) Both are avialable.

I have bought new breather nipple for the rear axle. The one in the y10 4WD axle was blocked, after unplugging, I have found a strange rubber "cork" under the cap, it does not look like one-way valve, or maby? a very primitive one. Anyway it was not working, will replace it with new one { from fiat 125, but I think any new with the similar size will do}.New one is a bit different, has thread,and one-way valve inside. I'll probably use rubber hose and clamps to connect it with the part of the old one sticking from the axle, have no screw tap of this size.

The mystery of the broken belt solved. Today accompanied by some smoke,lots of heat, and funny noises the alternator's bearngs stopped while I was driving in the morning, killing the new belt and the alternator itself:bang:It is seized solid . I thnk this poor trekkng has enough. :rolleyes: Yesterday the old belt snapped, I went to the parts-shop for the new belt, went to the garage to repair it. It was enough time for the alternator to cool down and start to turn again, while changing the belt I checked it, it was noisy a bit, but turned wthout any resistance.

First tryout of the 80-86 bumpers, front ok, all 6 bolts match,no tyre rub, rear must be moved about 15-20mm to the back, because of the bigger wheels and mismatch of the side bolts with their sockets .

Trekking ended its journey, I am starting the demolition
sounds like you started the demolition a while ago

I trust you've got some cunning plan to mount it, and not just bolt it to the front panel

Damn, and I ingenuously thought that tigerseal and cable ties will do the trick:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::D

There is a plan, nothing revolutionary, just my version of winch pods espyed on italian forum, hope you'll understand my scribble:

Can't get the scale from @Bartpandas photo but the winch looks pretty big.
It is big quad bike winch{ range is from 2000 to 4500 lbs}, but small toy compared with landrover's or patrol's winches :)Still reasonably lightweight, arround 15 kg, the next 5000 lbs is 24 kg , and that is a biiig difference with only 500 lbs pull gain. . It should fit clear under the 86-2003 bumper, I'll have problem with smaller 80-86 bumper, but it is just plastic, some swift anglegrinding and it will fit:D

My friend has 3500 lbs one, it works ok with panda, but it is safer to have minimum 1.5 X car weight winch, so ~ 800kg of panda sweetness plus 800 plus 400 gives 2000 kg ~ 4500lbs.

Look Ma ! No Balls! :eek::eek::eek:
Small contest for ya, why pandabella cant move without this three balls? where are the other three? { hint, use google maps to localize them somewhere between Krakow and Nieplomice city:D}

PS:
My cars are often nice to me and definitely break not further than 50-100m from my place, so I do not have to turn on the rear window heating to warm my hands while pushing them back home:p These three balls were enough to make 25 km trip back home on saturday{ and grind the leftovers of the C.V. joint}, and decided to leave just today when I was reversing in the morning.
