Ok....let us gauge interest here and see if enough people come onboard.
If so we can then move things on regarding date, venue etc...then open it up to the rest of the forum...although they won't be allowed to park next to us...
We could do Coventry motor museum again maybe? It's a good location with plenty to do (and shelter!). We can probably get permission to park on their entrance area again to form a proper display - unless FF has £5m of insurance, we'd need to do it under the FMC banner again but that's not a problem (to park on that area we had to send copies of the insurance to the museum & council - presumably in case we damaged part of what is actually a sculpture, or some twit tripped over a Panda ). It would take a bit more planning than some venues but not a biggie.
Gaydon's easy, but I'm sick of the sight of it, plus it's always freezing and wet!!
Don't think there's any point trying to make it near to everyone as it won't happen. Have Panda will travel........
Liking the first idea...and your right it does always seem to be wet and windy at Gaydon.
I think it does not have to be a venue which has links with cars....how about a pretty castle or stately home for a picnic?....seaside perhaps for fish and chips...
For sure Dave......I plan on being there anyway. As you say the more the better....
The idea behind the thread was to concentrate on the 25 years of the MK2 and most of all get a publication involved to promote the forum. I would just think that to attempt all that at mitcar would be difficult as there is a lot going on there.
How about a date towards the end of August / beginning of Sept bearing in mind Gaydon has been cancelled, so there is no proper last show yet Also gives people enough time to book days off from work etc if they work weekends
MITcar is unfortunatly the same date as Helmingham Hall car show which I'm off to as it was really good last year
There are RWYB days at Santa Pod September 1st and 14th as my 86 Panda isn't going to be ready in time for next weeks PPC £999 Challenge I'm ailming for that. The Fantasia is good to go anytime*.
* the use of the term "anytime" is provided I have enough notice to get time off work and money for fuel to get to wherever the gathering will be.
