Well, my Panda has been off the road for 18 months now, stored elsewhere in a dry garage. After 6 months religiously starting her up each week, I kind of gave up :(

Last time I tried, like an idiot, I didn't put it into gear so the clutch has seized :(

I recently decided to get her back on the road as she's only done 57K and pretty spotless bar a ding in the passenger side door.

Well, after charging the battery this weekend, I am proud to say she started up first time, albeit with a foot on the gas for a few minutes but quite happily carried on running on her own with no intervention from me (y)

I can't believe it - 12 months lying there and a first time start.

I am in the process of stripping down a CLX so I can swap the door to replace mine.

Is there anything I should do (besides the clutch) in order to make her loved again? I am going to send her over for a service and a new clutch of course, ready for an MOT (hopefully)

Oh, what should I strip off the old one? (some of the bodywork is awful and it leaks inside hence the stripping) The bonnet and hatch are good so they will be coming off - interior is coming out and I have started on the engine. My garage man will be removing the gear box as I know thats in good nick.

Should I basically strip everything

If you've got the space, then yes, strip everything.

As for what else to do to your main car, I would suggest you check the handbrake cable, also the handbrake linkage inside the brake drums, as this often siezes if stood for a while.
