General Forum rules....

Hi Jangcy,

Sorry you don't like it - we had thought there might be a little bit of a backlash, but really we just want to bring the whole forum inline with the same guidelines. It's really hard to manage when different sections follow different protocols.

By doing it this way, it makes the auctions a lot for visible for all (new posts now show the title of what is on offer, instead of just an update that the ebay threa has been made bigger) and discussion is now kept to an individual thread, so the import bits dont get lost.

If you look to the right hand side of the forum, you will see that the auctions will now automatically list there, so they aren't gone - just moved slightly.

However, I realise things are not perfect, so will be bringing in further changes over the coming week, the biggest being that "read status" will carry over into the right hand listings.

IE - If you havent looked at the auction thread yet, it will stay bolded (at the moment its all threads within the last 24 hours) and also, if a new post is made, the link will also rebold itself with a link direct to the newest post.

When that is implemented, there is no negative change at all (that I can think of) over the old system (still on main page, still shows new posts) - however I am of course open to further suggestions.

If you still don't like it, let me know why - and suggest a way it can be improved (y)

cheers,

Ben

Thank you for reply....I like that it's possible to find which thread is from Classic Panda Member section (or others)....it's good and very useful...I've used it aswell:)
(BTW I was using that thread a lot but telling "I'm guest" I mean that I'm not english and I only settled here with my RHD Panda...so I didn't feel good to say anything about your rules as I should accept all you've have got in here...)

However it wasn't nice to close somepeople's thread not even being part of that small friendly sub-forum (as I presume)...without even chance to let them say a word and then giving me warning for spam comment...

I'm from country where people have got hot blood and fight for freedom for many years and any type of slavedness we take to ourself...

...but that's the rule of that place so let it be...

On a slightly OT note though ben, but how was our Panda pic thread in the wrong format
The moderators of this section are supposed to move all Panda picture threads to the Members Motors section [well, in fact, they shouldn't need to move them at all - the member is supposed to post pics of their cars in that section, not the car sections].

Then the Panda forum should have a locked sticky, which links ONE picture from that thread back to here, with a link back to the actual MM thread, so that the car can be discussed by everyone].

This is what happens across the forum.

Hi Jangcy,

Yes that bit could have been handled a bit better, so I'm sorry about that.

Hopefully though going forward we can work out any issues people have with the new arrangement and make it amicable for all :)

Ben

That's what I wanted to say...introduce new changes to Auction Watch....inform what you're going to do...and then close...

I'm happy it works now :)

OK Stu, question.. Is it possible to filter the MM section to *just* look at the Panda photos? (or any other model for that matter)

The Classic Panda photo thread was just that.. Classic Pandas. No disrespect to other Fiat owners, but I'm not really interested in looking at pictures of someone's rusty old Punto. There doesn't seem to be any kind of link between the MM and the model gallery.. or maybe it's just me.

Cheers,

Plug

the sticky as said will list the pandas with one picture including a link to the full thread in members motors. You dont need a filter in MM as the link on the photo thread will take you straight to the thread.

A good example is the 500 section which has been doing this very sucessfully for over a year

Now I completely lost...

should be no need, if its done like the above all you do is look in the one thread, see a car you like, click it or the link under it and it will take you to that cars thread

what link will take you to which thread in memers/cars motors?

where is place to put some comment about those pictures?

Could somebody explain that somehow?:)

Thank you

Now I completely lost...

Thank you

go look at the new sticky thread at top of the section, hopefully the now added red text will explain a bit more.

This is going to be wonderful when people get used to it, it means we will have a quick easy database of each panda and its life can be all seen easy as the members update their threads

Some people have more than 1... does that mean more that 1 MM thread. Does it have to be linked to the MM thread too. Most of us don't have one... because we ta;k about them in panda section, which makes perfect sense. MM is good for modifiers, but us lot dont nmeed to tell the whole forum we changed a wheel bearing. Can it go to Member gallery if no MM thread is created? then if we do a MM thread PM a mod to get it changed?
