I'm soon to be visiting a scrap/ farm yard to buy some rear springs for rusty off a mk1 4x4 the car is semi flat as it has been stored under other cars

Hopfully the springs might be ok :worship:
And there may be other spares worth saving anyone need anything? Let me know

im planing to go and see this little 4x4 on sat at 11am so if anyone needs anything let me know quick.

i might be able to buy the whole car and strip it, as it has been trashed the shell is not repairable so im told.

Well if there is enough worth grabbing, would be well worth making an offer for the car a little over the value of the scrap. Depending on what of the mk1's features are still serviceable, I'll chip in to buying the car with you as long as its ok. It is your find to be fair

I'm quite excited now, hoping for a gold mine of parts...fingers crossed!

Cheers,
Si

Well, thanks a million Stuart for arranging all that. Apologies for dragging on at the end. I got into the swing of things and got a bit carried away. Will buy you a beer next time!

Anyways!! We have bought the car between us and will be striping it of all worth parts soon. (although I took a fair amount off today ). I had a fun day out, although was very sad to see a car in such bad condition. At least it will go on to help 2 other mk1 4x4's and a mk2 going for a few more years yet!! :D

I took some photo's of the day. The first picture is my sad sence of humour showing its ugly face again I am afraid. Seems an odd thing to boast about right? :p and so after getting moneys ready it was time to head over the the car. I was shocked when I first saw it, and didnt even realise it was the same colour as mine until I got digging around. Looked like before it was vandalised, the car was in pretty good condition as the bits that were rusty were the dented bits really. Oh well, nothing can be done now. I will be taking a gamble and saving the engine and gearbox as they are mk1 specific and a real find! The clock only said 2600 miles on the clock....and the rest!! haha. Also....it has the clutch cable clamp I am after so will be grabbing that too :D Overall, I think we both will get a good amount off the car of use to us.

Look forward to next time I am down stuart, just drop me a message if you need any help at all. I'll be ok to finish the parts scavange most weekends. :slayer:
