Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

Does it count for Panda based kit cars that are not even on the road yet?

If so:

I recently acquired some parts for when I next work on Satan's Rodent, namely:

Replacement windscreen washer bottle.
Mini heater unit (going to replace the Panda unit as it's bulky and difficult to fit properly).
Circular reflectors to complete the back lights.

Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

Well as it just so happens I've compleatly fixed up the Sisley and done ALL but one of the odd jobs that needed doing. You know, the ones you need to be in the mood for.

This is a repeat of a post in another thread really, but
  1. Fixed boken wire to one of the 6x9's in the rear
  2. Replaced broken side repeater on passenger side that I managed to rip off when jet washing her
  3. Changed female connector to oil pressure sensor and connected up so that the oil warning light now works again
  4. Removed fuel filler neck (managed to snap the bit where it goes onto body work, but bodged it back with superglue) to repair the bit thats worn away and causing the leak.
  5. Cleaned, repaired, bodged and re-fitted fuel filler neck. Now need to fill tank to full with jerrycan's of fuel and have fingers crossed that she dosen't still leak
  6. Re-attached sensor wire to altinator that had come off, so I now also have a battery warning light working on the dash again
All in all, a fairly good Thursday and Friday, seeing's as it only took me about 4-5 hours over the two days to do .

Also been stripping more off of the donor 750L, and not long until we roll it onto its side (once glass, and doors are off) to remove things from the underside like the fuel tank and sump off of the engine

So all in all, a relativly Panda productive week that I've had off of uni, and only got a bit of course work done in

And I haven't even gone into what I've got done to my sisters mk3

Jon.

Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

Over the last few few Manda has had......

New seat belts because the sun had bleached them.

Removed the rear nudge bars and fitted rear light guards.

Last week me and manda spent 2 evenings at Quick fit having new mid and rear sections of exhaust done. On saturday they fitted it We noticed there was a slight blow so I took it back on tuesday and had them fit it again then the idiot decided to wack it in place with a hammer causing the exhaust to vibrate against the body every time she pulled away so back it went on thursday where they had to remove it and heat and bend the brackets. All sorted now though at long last.

Yesterday we removed the alloys and rubbed them down and gave them a spray up. She looks cool now as they are a slightly darker shade now.

Today she is going to have a nice wax.

Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

We managed to fit new calipers yesterday but broke a brakepad which we couldn't replace so had to glue it (yes, yes, yes I know!) cause Sylvia is dew in Belfast city centre for a photo shoot with the irish news today!

Pics later

As I've said before, I'm so jelous at what you can do with bodywork John! Looks Fab

Glad you got the exhaust sorted also. They're a bloody pain to get fitted correctly on Panda's we've found out over the years

On this occasion kev done it and John cleaned the inside. We had great fun doing the wheels as we had this weird moment with the rotations on the wheels. . . . . . some more wine later we got there in the end.

All cleaned as good as possible and on the old girl. Handling feels so much sharper and it feels light which is odd, considering they are 165 tires. Pic

Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

Handling feels so much sharper and it feels light which is odd, considering they are 165 tires.
The wider, sportier tyres have stiffer side walls which improves handling, grip and feel. The steering feels lighter because the stiffer side walls don't flex as much so more effort from the steering wheel goes into steering rather than flexing the tyres. As you've noticed, the difference is quite obvious. Try chucking it around some corners a bit faster than you would normally. (In the dry of course).

Edit: Just looked at your picture again. Looks like the tyres are lower profile than Panda ones. Are they the cinq originals?

MandaPanda has similar and John took me out for a spin and to say Manda gripped the road was an understatement!

Re: What have you done for her/him recently?

They are lower profile than the panda's yes. we stood them side to side and the alloys are about two finger widths lower. Not original tyres. 2 are new, only seen road use when i drove it today, and the other two have probably been used for a few months. Probably go out later and give it a good blast and see how she handles at higher speed than 30
