Using my girlfriends panda parade at the minute.

The temperature gauge hardly gets off the 50C mark and the heater is a lukewarm breeze.

I'm doing a 55 mile journey so i'd expect it to warm up nicely.

Do Pandas suffer from dodgy temperature gauges? If the gauge is correct, its running quite cold which isn't going to be good for consumption.

I'm going to run it and check the fan cuts in telling me its getting to temperature. I'll also check the thermostat is working.

Do pandas suffer from poor heater valves? I'll have a look at this too.

Its an injected engien so not sure if this makes a difference ot the runnign temperature.

Any help will as always be greatly appreciated.

Jody.

If you park car with running engine and fan cuts off AND temperature on gauge will be about 90...it means that gauge/sender is OK and just thermostat needs changing....

When I got my Panda, the plastic of the heater tap had become brittle which caused the 'arm' that holds the control cable to snap off. Therefore when the temperature was adjusted inside the cabin, no change would happen at the heater matrix.
Unfortunatly I couldn't find the tap as a separate part. Seems you have to buy it with the matrix :(.

Worth a quick look behind the battery to see if this is a contributing factor or not.

As far as the heater is concerned have you checked the coolant reservoir? Mine was cold as anything but when I refilled the reservoir it warmed up again... I'm guessing there was an air lock in the matrix or just not enough water in the system!! Gets checked more regularly now!!

yeah low coolant will make the heater run lukewarm and if that doesent do anything then cover the rad with cardboard as a cheap and easy fix for the stat not being up to the job

Thanks for that. Did try my local dealer. They said it wasn't available :(
I don't suppose you know how much they are? The one I have fitted isn't great and I would like to replace it.
