As you know, 'panda mark' floats about on here, and his panda had roofbars of which I have been after a set for the van for ages. So with pleanty of encouragement form charlotte (ex owner of floyd) and some arm twisting, charlotte convinced mark in to selling the roof bars to me - so it was arranged to meet up at the local classic car do to do the swap of bars for money.
So wayne (my other half) began to take the bars off with marks trusty allen keys - and S-N-A-P the bloomin allen headed bolt sheared off the part that holds on the little black cover caps, then we realised that the roof bars were bolted to the roof, so now, stood in the lashing rain and wind in absolute horror, having busted a bit of marks panda off realising it wasnt viable to just whip the bars off - we had some explaining to do when mark retuned
We explained what happened; mark who if you have met him before is a top bloke, understood we had busted part of his panda off. So wayne said we would repair the part then post it back to him - all good...........................
However whilst the mark/wayne chat was going on I was chatting to charlotte, wayne had asked how much the whole car would be, once I knew this, it planted the seed, a panda with all the choice parts and goodies on for a very reasonable price:chin:, at which point the keys were put in my hands and I was on a test drive !!
After some deliberation and wayne not minding living on bread and water for the next few months, it was decided it should come home! Rushed off to get a bunch of money from the cashpoint and now the wee beasty resides with me, panda van and the 500
Im not sure if I can keep the name of liquorice, its just no rock n' roll, maybe torpedo or muselini instead...........................
Cheers mark - well pleased !!:slayer:
