Hi peeps

I have concerns with my new CRB.
It goes onto the spline in the bell housing as the old one did, but it doesn't seem a perfect fit or at all smooth when you pull the release arm.
Call me an idiot but the spinny wheel points toward the engine and clutch yeh??
The two arms on the bearing do contact the release fork but don't clip on or attach in any way. Should they??
If I twist the back plate of the bearing clockwise the top arm slips into the depression on the release fork. If I twist the back plate anti-clockwise the bottom arm slips into the depression on the release fork. If I slide it on centraly, the two arms touch the tips of the release fork. Is this correct??

Cheers

Nick

Don't know what you mean by "the spinny wheel"

The arms protruding from the bearing should both be in contact with the prongs of the operating fork.

ePER does show a small indentation in the back of each prong which would be where the clips would normally go if they were fitted but there are no clips shown on ePER.

Dave.

Sorry, 'Spinny wheel' just means the bearing cup.
Ok, sounds like I've done it right, but it just seems very unsmooth. Once the fork has pushed so far the bearing actually comes off the spline and doesn't remain centred. Is this normal and will be ok once it has the clutch plate pushing on it?? How much actual movement on the spline will there be once its bolted to the engine?

Cheers boss

p.s. the arms on the back of the bearing are about 3mm thinner on my replacement QH bearing as on the one I took off. I'm sure I have the right one tho. Baught it by chassis number.

That's normal Nick. the fork doesn't travel very far when everything is bolted up. The Fiat kit is slightly better in the respect you mention but wouldn't worry about it. The spline that the bearing sits on has a metal sheath and it should slide smothly along that.
