Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and pleased to see so many panda appreciators!! Mine is ill:(. It is a 1994 1000 CLX and all the electrics have stopped working except the starter and the hazard lights... Any ideas? I looked in the Haynes manual but no obvious solutions jumped out at me... Block fuses maybe??

Hi look at the earths under the bonnet you will find a cluster of them black wires attached to a multi earth conector on the inner wing right hand side give the spades a good clean up with sandpaper or similar and things should work again:)

1994 models do not have hedgehogs. The problem lies elsewhere, possibly the electrical switch behind the ignition assy on the steering column.

Thanks, the steering column has been disassembled and re-built before I got the car due to some little b*£$%^&s trying to steal it when it lived in London. The horn didn't work when I got it and I think it may have been put back together a bit slapdash!

I'll have a look behind the steering column trim and see what's up. Thanks again.

:yeahthat:

To get at the ignition barrel to check connection's, just simply drop the cloth facia/dash for access. Can all be got at from there. I've just been fitting an alarm, and was alarmed at how easy Panda's are to hot wire :(, even tried it myself, and even I could do it :cry:

Right downloaded a few pic's off of the digital camera here.

This is what the ignition barrel should look like when look up at it from underneath when the cloth dash/facia has been removed;

Under ign barrel.jpg

It should all look as pic'ed if all ok, but just push in both plugs just incase loose.

Just for refrence there are two plugs. Bottom one does all the ignition switched electrics. Top engine ign and starter (y)

Two other pics.

The two Plugs that go into the ignition barrel.

Yellow circled is the Engine ign and starter plug, sits in the top slot on the ign barrel

Black circled is the igniton switched electrics like headlights, wiper, rear screen etc, and sits in the bottom position.

Hope this all helps (y)
