Alan and I where out playing with the cars today (we'd to rescue my Aunt who's Suzuki Alto broke down.. God, I'd to jump start it and then drive it home, like it's yellow and really really GAY!) Anyway, after that we'd the 500 and Splutter out and Alan and I were having fun whizzing up and down the little country lanes...

Well, we turned off that one onto a much narrower road and just as we came round a corner there was a land rover coming the other way towing a big bit of farm machinery that stuck out much further than the side of the land rover on to our side of the road. Well the 500 did what it was supposed to do and the ABS fired, the Hazards came on and Alan did a great job of coming to an abrupt stop and avoiding messing up the 500's white paint with some green John Deer! Unfortunately he forgot all about me and Splutter behind that were approaching behind.....

So there was that moment were splutters peddle went straight to the floor cause of his dodgy master cylinder! A few pumps more and the pressure built up just in time of me to lock the wheels and put Splutter into a skid that put me on a collision course with the back end of the 500!

Thankfully there was big grass verge to the left of the 500 and thank god for all the extra clearance they designed under Splutter (Even more so since I popped on the alloys with the 155/70 x 13's) so with a bit of flaffing about I managed to get splutter to change trajectory towards the grass and, with much to Alan's surprise Splutter and I shot past him half on top of the hedge! :D

Anyway, Splutter got back on the road again and we headed home and I've opened the wine to soothe the nerves, lol!

Poor Splutter!

Jim

And the moral of the story is...

Until you put the new master cylinder in Splutter, drive Splutter in front of Alan in Toto! :p

Think he's getting mixed up with Sylvia... Well, i do confuse people by having 2 pandas with names beginning with 'S'!

Anyway Pete, Yellow is great on a Fiat but rubbish on a crappy sub compact hatchback from india. Don't know why, it just is. Then again Alto's are just rubbish no matter what colour they are and I was ashamed to be seen in one, lol!

At least it gives me a reason to get the master cylinder on ASAP, lol!

Jim

So the 500 has the annoying flash hazards when panic braking then :D

yeah... I've found this out already when I forgot that the dual carriageway goes from a 70 to a 40 and then let everybody know that I'd forgot by my 500 telling all and sundry that I can't drive....

Jim

Ps, Deirdre! Splutter is in good health! (well, as good as he ever was, lol!)

Lol whoops, should have known too you mentioned splutter in my old cars thread and he was red not white, forgive my lapse been looking at EQAS on the environment agency website and i suspect my brain is dribbling out of my ear.
