I don't know if this is of any use, as most members of this forum appear to want their cars to go fast and look pretty. I don't have a problem with that as , hundreds of years ago, I was young too and took part in many an (iffy) drag/street race.
However, I'm now old and 'respectible'(?) and think that the following might be usefull:
I've just bought two wonderful electric winches from www.c-n-buy.com for our two off-roaders. They will take 2000lb and are so cheap as to be practically free !
Also....are you all familiar with PARLIAMO ? It's the official magazine of Fiat Motor Club (GB) and is well worth looking at..........[?]

Hi Pandafan.

Thanks for mentioning Parliamo. I'm a member of the club, and have sent a few pieces for the magazine.

Can't remember being young ... it was too long ago [:0]

Steve the geriatric Panda and Beagle freak, but can't see no problem in running a Brava in the meantime ...

Hi Jaff............where's my 80p ?!? [}:)]
The winches that I've bought are £68 each (+vat) and are superb. To fit them I'm fixing a section of footplate steel to the bullbar light fittings and back to a bar fixed between the wings, running just in front of the radiator. They come with a neat hand-held control unit. I intend to cut it's wires and fit a weatherproof socket to the car (s) to take a plug fitted to the unit (s). Should work.......If you don't hear from me again: it didn't !|)

There those wobbly bolts, the loose washer at the top means they cost 4times more than normal bolts!! *growls* anyway there a waste of time..
