Hi,
I've had alot of help from members before and I'm very grateful for that, Thanks!
Have another query:
Do ANY of the 1993 Panda Parade Fire 1000's have the sender unit attached to the fuel pump?
I was quoted £250 for a new fuel pump (my fuel gauge wasn't working) but I've replaced the sender unit myself (£37). When I asked the Fiat garage why the wanted to charge so much, I was told that the computer gave them 2 options. 1 - A new fuel pump 2 - Replacing the sender unit.
I want to take the matter further cos I think they were trying to change an expensive part which wasn't necessary and want to stop them from doing it to anybody else.

Thanks

The 93 panda should have a fuel pump unit which contains the sender. As you know the sender can be removed and replaced from this unit. Other pandas (carb models) have just the sensor unit. I would imagine it would be quite easy for a partsman who does not know the classic Panda well to assume you needed one or the other, I'm sure it was a honest (if nearly costly) mistake. cheers Damon

There are two totally different fuel injection systems in use on UK Pandas in 1993.

For the first few months they used a Bosch SPI system, and the ignition used a breakerless distributor.

As far as I know, all UK Pandas after about March/April 1993 used Magnetti Marelli SPI injection with the dual coil ignition.

I couldn't argue about how different the sender/pump units are, but I'd be amazed if they were the same.
