Has anyone added any deadening to their pandas? The only deadening i've seen in mine is in the front footwells/firewall.

Wheres the best place to add some? I've heard expanding foam in the rear 3/4 panels is a good start. And maybe the boot floor, dont think theres anything under the rubber mat.

Had the rear seat out earlier and had to go for a drive, damp road and the spray from the rear tyres was VERY loud. Almost sounded as if there was nothing between me and the tyres but i don't want to put cisable deadening on the wheel arches.

Has yours got the black insulation under the bonnet? Steven recommends it, but they're surprisingly hard to get hold of!

It has the bit which goes behind the battery, in front of the air intake and behind the spare wheel. I know it makes a massive difference as i once drove without it. Nothing actually attached to the bonnet though.

Don't mention 'expanding filler foam' lol!
There's pics of where i got a bit carried away with it on here somewhere!
Jim

I'll have a look for that, dont want to mess anything up!

EDIT: is this it? https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/92251-bits-bobbs.html

Doesnt look like a massive problem when you can just cut it off with a knife.

We took the whole interior out and added carpet in the foot wells - and also run it from the rear foot wells and cut out the seat mounting holes and followed it through to the boot.

works a treat and cheap too!!!

although we can still hear the rain in the rear wheel arches - But hey it's a Panda!!!!:D

LOL that was a picture from when she was bought - totally standard.

She now has JBL 6 x 9's and CD player. This the interior of the Panda we were in when we spotted you near Docklands a few weeks back :D

Did you put carpet under the standard carpet or actually replace the carpet?

Even after reading the post on expanding foam i've filled the rear panels with the stuff (removed all trim and rear lights first then cut away excess). It has decreased the road noise a bit, not a massive amount though.

I'm looking at carpet underlay for under the boot liner but i lifted the rubber liner a few days back and found it was slightly wet underneath around one of the rubber bungs. Is it important that the bungs are left or can i seal them up?

Yes we put carpet under standard carpet only in foot wells and same in the rear but followed it through to the boot and we think it helped a lot. (y)

Roofers underlay is a good and cheap way of soundproofing. Get a heat gun and cut to shape

My bungs dont keep out water either. Every now and then there is a slight pool. Dont see a need for them really

I want to get rid of the road noise so i can hear my tunes better :) Sounds good when im stationary but downhill from there.

Thanks mandapanda, will look at underlay :)

I've completely deadened my entire vehicle with 2 layers of B-Quiet Ultimate.

I've done it for sound competitions but I also get the benefit of a quiet(er) ride! (y)

JordyO, noticed you're from Ottawa. Are you part of team adasa by any chance?

I don't have the black stuff under the actual bonnet and pandas are rare as rocking horse poo around here so almost zero chance of finding one in a scrap yard

Ben,
If you're ever up here in West Yorkshire, you're welcome to an under-bonnet sheet.:)

Just a word of warning, some expanding foams absorb moisture, and I think you'll agree moisture and Panda's are not a good combination. That said with the correct foam it sounds like a great idea idea and one I'll use 👍
