Still going strong, the black Panda. Also bought a Vespa, never problem with parking anymore :D .

The black Panda has run 50.000km without any problems at lpg. And the variomatic gearbox also still going strong and a party to drive with. Too bad Fiat doesn't use this anymore.

Today the car is 21 years old. Technically everything is very good. Also a extra party, because the investment of the lpg-installation has paid itself back. Including extra rearsprings, flashlube & extra valve control.

Going strong and on the way to get 40 years old and 300.000km (y) .

These dutch Panda's are still there :D .

I've washed the black one and waxxed it also. The antenne is missing, while I found out the metal was rusted and there the radio wasn't working anymore.:bang: . A new one is ordered.

Also a little update for the green Phoenix, warning stickers which were ordered in 10 pieces for the black Panda:

Too bad the free pic.site wants money to show the pic for others. I can't change the posts anymore to change the link.

Anyway, the gearbox of the green Panda is repaired. The last models (with 1100cc multipoint engines) have a problem that the car shakes when you accelerate. I guess the power is too much for the gearbox and Fiat changed it for the Panda 2.
But for the classic's only solution is to open the gearbox and change the 'sonwheels'.

A Panda without gearbox:

The gearbox open and all looks very good:

These are the 'sonwheels' which needs to be replaced:

The redcircle area's are worn down and causes the shaking when you accelerate.

The green Panda is ready to roll again, just when you have bought the car as costumer at this garage:

And this looked also 15 years back, when I bought my first car here. Sometimes the time stay still........, I think I'm getting old :D :

Only the roofrails at the roof need to be installed and the transformation form an 'Young' to a 'Hobby' version is complete.

Yesterday the car is lined out (don't know what's called in english), what means the wheels are set in good why to drive like an italian should be :D .
The man who helped me (he races also, so he knows enough about cars), said that the gearbox is shifting like butter, so smooth and the car drives beautifully as much as a Panda can be.
And a few weeks ago he had also a Ferrari F40, so it makes me a little special that a simple Panda stood at the same place.
Strange that a brand who made the Panda, owns Ferrari :yum: .

I must say, the car drives smooth and doesn't shake anymore at 140km/h, it won't get faster  .

I'll be back........I'm back (y) .

I got a new toy, a motortrailer. Now I can bring my Vespa also. I would like to go on holiday to Rome and what is a better transport than a Vespa? With al those small streets and parkingproblems........
