Has anyone ever attempted to replace/upgrade the crown wheel and pinion on the Palio/Siena.

With the car running at 3500rpm at 120km and me doing a lot of long distance traveling, it would be nice to have the engine idling at a lower rpm.

The Palio/Siena is the 178 World Car. Would anyone know of any gearbox/diff replacements/modifications?

Perhaps which other model's gearbox with a better ratio will bolt on without hassle?

Thank you
Hugo

I don't think anybody here ever did, I for sure didn't felt the need at all.
I owned a 1,6-16V Palio Weekend 100HP for 13 years, and did a lot of high speed driving on the -no speed limit- German motorways, never felt unconfortable at those speeds and engine rpm's at all...
