Hi everyone!

I'm a fresh owner of a 2006 Fiat Albea 1.4 8v and notice that the steering is way too light (at least for me).
I have flushed steering pump liquid (was pit black) with Fuchs atf 3000 but the steering feeling is the same.

I suspect that if I lower steering hydro pressure by applying small changes to the release valve I will get some extra stiffnes. Any advices on this approach?
There is any way to increase the steering stiffness?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,:)
MOST modern FIAT's use electric PAS .. only their vans / trucks tend to use hydraulic..

the only suggestion I could make is either;

use heavier oil.. or change the belt and pulley, so it ( turns slower)provides less pumping pressure

Thanks for the reply but I doubt that I can find a heavy Dexron II or VI. Changing the pulley is useless and possible dangerous during acceleration if the steering will suddently go lighter.

I'll try to schedule a wheel alignment check and see if it I can get a positive response to a geometry change.
