Good day,

Recently my 2001 Fiat Palio Weekend 1.6 16v Cut out while I was driving home. No noise, no engine sounds just cut out, started it again while freewheeling and just barely made it home because it kept cutting of at random intervals. Next morning car didn't want to start and all so i left it and grabbed the bus. 3 days later tried to start it again and it worked!. Then on the way to work it cut out again and refused to start again. A friend tow'd me the rest of the way and I've been trying to figure out why it won't start, since then. I've checked for spark, petrol, vacuum. And the mechanics charge a arm and a leg for a diagnostic and I'm short on cash at the moment
After reading a few posts I've noticed that quite a few of the time it could be one or another faulty/loose sensor that might be causing the issue.

Can you be so kind to refer me to where I might find crank sensor / cam sensor / knock sensor or a service guide that will point them out to me.

Thanks in advance

from my experience a crankshaft position sensor maybe causing this or maybe the cam sensor too, loose connections, disconnections, and maybe the sensor itself is failing, or not operating well due to low voltage or something, a mechanic should look for the problem without removing the engine from the car

If you need their actual location inside the car, I can help too

Hi,
My Fiat Siena struggles to start after mechanic replaced the engine. It runs like a horse after starting though. The engine is not stiff but it sounds like dying when trying to crank. No stalling or anything when it has started. Do you think it can be one of the sensors?
