hi,
there is a problem with my fiat palio, when i am driving the exhaust backfires,
when i slow down at a robot and then take off it fires,
now its gotten worst where as i am driving it back fires,
what could be the problem?
also the fuel injector light on the instrument cluster is on,
please help...

I had the same problem. I did the following: Replaced the fuel filter to insure even fuel flow without any possible old blockage. Next I disconnected my car battery + and made sure that all the plugs and connections to the fuel system, relay and the pump were properly connected and that there were no damaged pipes or wires. I found that my problem originated from the fuel relay which I replaced.


The injector light that is constantly on is limited to the injectors only, it can also be a fuel pressure problem so you will have to check the whole fuel system on your vehicle (before purchasing and replacing any injectors and or parts.

i also have a stating problem now and again,
not always though,
when i turn the key it makes a noise then it starts but when i turn the key and it does not make any noise it does not start,
there is not even a swing.

First things first:
As the injector light is on, the ECU has detected a problem, have the ECU read for stored faults at a dealer/specialist.
Could be so may things, no need for guessing...

hi,

normally due to the spark of combustion happening at the same time as the exhaust valve opens - due to the timing being incorrect

however - there is a small change that there is unburnt fuel in the exhaust igniting independantly

how do i set the timing correctly?
i have been told by a mechanic that there is a valve miss and he needs to remove the head in order to sort this out, could this really be the problem?
