Talking palio mods

Hi everyone,
I;m from south africa and own a 1.2 palio

can someone please help me with any engine mods to a palio 1.2
I need to get n few kw out of it or maybe get n 1.6 if it will fit.
I was thinking of a T2/3 turbo maybe but I dont know for how long the motor will handle it.

I also know of a site that might help you guys a bit called maxmyride.co.za they have all sorts of stuff from body mods to audio and engine upgrades for all vechile types i think.

Re: palio mods

Hi

I also own a Palio 1.2 5 door. Im from South africa. I have a 2004 model.

I have also tried endlessly to get help on mods, but no1 seems to know or wants to help with a palio.

I have added a performance filter and a free flow system from Powerflow.
The tone is wild as hell, but performance has increased a little, not too much tho.

Im running a full Kicker audio install so i guess that has added weight, plus soundproofing in the doors.

I am looking at adding a UNICHIP so that i can take full advantage of my freeflow and filter.

does any1 have any thoughts?

My mechanic simply hates my car, to open the door panels, we had to make specialised tools.

its been a week now and i still cant find out where the Fuel Filter is located. Does any1 know?

Re: palio mods

Hi there, also from SA,but drive a 1108 uno,is this a SA only post as no one else seems to post here.

Well it's a 1242 FIRE engine, and your best mods would be to take off your head and skim it about 0.6 mm, get the head gasflowed, ported and polished and grind the cam 288 deg, along with your intake manifold. this mod would give you the most of power on a N/A car. then you can fit an induction kit and a branch and freeflow.
and when you finished all these mods send it for a dyno tune.
These mods should set u back roundabout R5000 - R8000.
Camtec in JHB do good jobs on cylinder heads, they quoted me R3000 to port, polish, gasflow and sort the cam for me.

Re: palio mods

heys guys watsup
i have a fiat palio as well.
for the computer chip dont go with dastek yet as it is very problematic with the fiat palios.
they say it should be sorted in about a month.
the production series race fiats use a gotech fuel managment system.
this adds about 10kw- 15kw if tuned properly.
Dam at least im also not the only one who battles with the door panels. ha ha ha
