Hi all

I am new to the site and hope I'm in the right place.

I was told that a modern Fiat Strada pick up is similar to a Palio.

I need to find the location of the temp sensor.
I think there is a loose wire on it cause the needle jumps like mad on dirt roads.
I live on a farm that is 30km+ off the tar roads so the needle jumps 90% of the time.

I'm also looking for the location of the pollen filter if I have one.
The car has air-con but i'm not sure if it has a pollen filter.

Thanks

What modelyear and engine?
In most cases the temp sensor is on top of the thermostat.
The pollenfilter sits next to the accelerator in the footwell.
I change it in about 10-15 minutes, but it took me much longer the first time......!!!

Hi Peter

It is a 2008 1.4l petrol.
I have just looked for the thermostat but its not in the usual place.
It looks like it might be under the distributor cap if I follow the water pipes. It looks like there is a sensor just after it. I hope that is the temp sensor.

I aslo looked under the dashboard by the accelerator pedal and there was nothing. Could it be somewhere else?

Thanks

Rob

Did you have a look at ePER on top of this page?
The pollenfilter is rather difficult to find at first, but it should be right next to the accelerator, behind a small black "door".
Use a torch light, and crawl on the floor on your back to see and find it...it is well hidden I'm afraid...!
At first, it looks impossible to get it out, because the accelerator is in the way, but with a little bending and some force, it can be done...

I doubt it's the sensor, I'm afraid it's the needle ( damping) that's broken...
But the sensor is not that expensive, so you well may try to change it first.

One other thing that comes to mind: some time ago the fuel needle of my Alfa GT jtd jumped like made as well.
It turned out to be a burned connection to one of the fuel injectors, the ground for the needle was located at that specific connection...can you image that...??
I had the ECU read to find out btw.

Thanks guys

After a lot of playing round I found that if I loosen the screws holding the clocks and move it forward with spacers it stops jumping.

I don't think I have a pollen filter on my pickup. No worries though.

Thanks anyway.:slayer:

If it has A/C it has a pollen filter for sure..!!

Look at ePER on top of this page for the location of the filter.
(probably in the footwell, near the pedals..)
