Tuning Palio 1.2 8v turbo

After a bit of fiddling with the map sensor piping its now fueling a bit better and is now driveable and i must say pulling like a train when the boost comes in

Now i need to save up to buy an ecu probably megasquirt ,i have decided not to use the uni chip as i don't like the idea that i am limited to who i can use to tune it and i have to take it for remapping every time i change boost or something. Any suggestions on which ms to look at or other ecu's

Oh wow, this is a very nice topic and awesomely detailed.
Very nice build.

What boost you running?
What power is it making?

It must be a totally different car:):)

Can someone tell what the differences are between this cylinderhead and valve cover, compare to the Euro-5 1.2 8v cylinderhead and valve cover.

Is the cylinderhead the same and only the valve cover different. ???

This looks closer to the old Punto 75 lump than anything else. But hard to guess -- your emissions standards are likely to be different (hence batch, rather than sequential injection -- no cam sensor) and so on. The Palio isn't imported to the UK.

Megasquirt should be fine. If there's a lug on the block for a knock sensor you may as well use one.

As a worldcar, build in several countries on all continents, the Palio range uses the exact same engines like all other Fiats from the same time.
So it's not important if a model is sold in a specific country or not, engine set ups are more or less almost the same.
The O.P. should compare partnumbers to find his answer.
And for doing so, he needs a recent ePER CD.

For one thing, the statement is simply not true. A fair bit of the Brazilian stuff has never been seen in another market, AFAIK. 999 16v, anyone? Maybe it appears in ePer. Maybe not. Maybe the OP can find a working copy of ePer with his car in it, maybe not. Actually getting the parts in SA might be problematic! I mean, I can't walk into my local FIAT dealer and ask them to get me a 16v ethanol engine.

That FIAT were selling an MPI car without cam sensor post 2000 (production of the similarly featured P75 seems to have stopped in the mid 90s!) is pretty extraordinary. It might mean that tooling itself has been transferred to Africa. Or it might mean that SA was sent cars developed and produced for eastern europe. Or even some combination of the two.

For all that, ePer isn't a bad place to start, but does lack dimensions of many parts, for example. For upgraded parts (bearing in mind the nature and quality of the build), there are better channels.

Well sorry to correct you, but...

The Fiat World Car Project 178 (= Palio etc.) is made in Brazil, Argentina, Turkey,Marroc, South Africa, China, Russia, among others, etc. etc...
Engines are coming from different plants all over the world.
Our m.y. 2000 Palio Weekend 1,6-16V is sold new on the Dutch market, but is made by Tofas-Fiat Turkey F.I....
And yes EVERY official Fiat dealer all over the world can order ( and will get) ANY part number that's on ePER, no discussion.
