Peter , congratulations on your car completing 200000 kms.

Super it is and also proves thay fiats are not headache cars

Like all cars it just needs a little TLC and it can serve for many many years

Please post some picturesvif your car uf thats ok with you

Rgds

No, the spoiler is aftermarket, so are the H&R lowering springs ( 2-3cm), the Ansa exhaust tip, the Sparco strutbrace and the Ate powerdiscs at front....
The wheels are 15 inch Mak Sting with Pirelli P6 tires, 195/50R15H.
And don't forget the led side markers, I just hate those original "faded" orange ones...those led markers were the first thing I did to the car, many years ago...

The car just looks DROP DEAD GORGEOUS

Everything, the springs, the alloys, the side markers are adding to the looks

Seeing the shine of the paint who would say this is a ten year old car which just completed 2,00,000 kms

KUDOS

:worship:

Thanks.
It only gets regularly service, mostly done by myself, and I only use the best quality parts that are available.
The car is parked under a carport at night, that helps a lot to keep it's shiny appearance, I guess...
We have decided to keep it a few more years, it's just a good car.
There are a few costly repairs on the way, though, it needs a new A/C compressor ( the existing one is leaking) and condenser, and they are expensive...but hey, so is a new car...!!

I have the same approach
Its better to spend few hundred dollars and get a new part, rather then spending 15000 to 20000 on a new car specially when rest of the car is in top shape

Also when buying a similar new car you have to deal global engine downsizing trend. If you want a bigger engined car, you will have to spend much more then before

Today, I ordered a new a/c compressor, dryer, and condenser.
I have searched the internet for a long time, and found some really inexpensive sources for those parts.
I ordered some original Fiat o-rings as well.
My apk(MOT) workshop is going to evacuate and fill the system with the proper amount of oil and R134A gas, next spring, so the Palio will be really "cool" next summer....

O Rings for future use?

What is the make of the compressor?

Great to know that now your palio will be summer ready :)

The O-rings are for the A/C connections.

The make of the compressor is Alanko, I bought it in Germany, but I think it's a Polish product.
It's a direct replacement for the Denso compressor, only at a fraction of the price...!!

The condenser is from NRF, that's a Dutch company, most of the times, there are original Valeo parts in their boxes.
I'm going to pick it up tomorrow, than I'll be sure about that..

No Valeo condenser but some unknown Far East brand...
Well, as long as it is functional, I don't care much...

Maybe because its still in production in China and some company makes an after market part with original specs

I guess till the point it does its job, it should not be an issue

We are getting Fiat OE here in India (not available freely) but surely costs a bomb

My sympathies. Seems like the whole world is full of fong kong parts

Tell me about it. I bought "Danish" aftermarket alternator for my Punto only to find "Made in China" on the box and on the part
I can only hope the children in the remote mountain village who assembled it got what they thought was a decent pay :bang:

Can't recommend Alanko anymore, the "new" compressor is slowly dripping oil, as the old one did, Alanko turns any responsibilities down...

Today, our 2000 Fiat Palio Weekend 1,6-16V reached 200.000 km's, and is still going strong !!!!
We bought it back in 2003 with 17.000 km, so we drove 183.000 km with it!!
( and without major problems...!!)

(y)

Last week, I noticed the left front tire was slowly losing pressure.
It turned out to be a VERY small nail was causing this.
Our local fastfitter did the repair, and now everything is fine.

I also have fitted an outside temp. reader, so we know when it's freezing, and the roads will be slippery.

The car had it's annual MOT test, without problems (as usual...)

Odometer reached almost 215.000km, so an oil and filter change is due this weekend.
