hi guys/girls

i have my siena for about 8months now, bought 2nd hand, with not a single problem, but today as i left for work, the guages and speedo just died, when i started up they where fine, i checked the fuses, they are fine, also the radiator fan and cab fan still works, clock works, but no fuel, temp speedo or warning lights on dash work, i phoned the dealership they said it could either be the solder on the mainboard or the cluster could be damaged, i looked up the threads but nothing with a 2001 siena/palio , any idea how to remove the cluster? thanx, any other help is welcome.

Please see pics, there are no screws

ok thanx, went to fiat today, next booking is for next week wednesday on top of that my car started missing when i press on the accelerator, read a thread about clean the area in the induction where the "flap" is, tried it but not luck, now i have a car with a dead dash and missing... any1 got any suggestions?

you mean the throttle body right? does the car have a sticky rpm? i mean when you press the accelerator, the car revs / moves slowly and then there is sudden surge of power?

check the condition of the spark plugs and the ignition coils, because of this a car usually misses / sputters.

regarding the dead dash, it can be a simple loose connector.

yeah the throttle body, the rpm is alittle rough, when at idle, i press the accelerator, it misses and comes right at higher rpm but when im driving, it misses continuously .

plugs are fine, i have a coil pack, is the ignition coil seperate and wheres the location?

thanx

i was talking about the ignition coil pack.

if the throttle body is clean, check for vaccum leaks. did you change the air filter recently?

i checked for vaccum leaks, seems fine, service was done about 6 months ago and the air filter was changed but i took out the air filter and tested, still does the same thing. could it be any of the sensors dat could cause it? current status - has a rough idle, when revved, it misses and then revs normal but when driving, misses and jerks all the time until i reach about 65km/h on 5th gear.

is the car overheating by any chance? can you check the condition of the coolant? swap the coil pack and check.

get the car scanned at the dealership.

check the compression of each cylinder.

car not overheating, fan comes on, coolant is fine, car is booked in for next wednesday for a scan and going to check today where i can get a coil pack to test.

ok, update, missing sorted out, was not the ignition coil pack but was an ignition coil lead! one lead was damaged on the inside.

Hi. I replaced my leads with new ones 2 years ago. Where is the coil situated in my 1.2 el? It has electronis ignition. Only 4 leads
