Hi,

I was fine with my daily 50km city travel till day-before-yesterday. In the morning, my Palio 1.9D denied to start. All glow plugs are original and 6months old. There is no electrical issue. I called my fiat mechanic who is servicing it for a long. I don't know what but after half an hour the car started and he said there is not problem. He only did some cleaning of electrical wires and fuse/relay. I drove the car throughout the day, went to several of my client places and traveled around 50km in a span of 12 hours.

The next day, yesterday again in the same problem occurred and I called my mechanic and he immediately started it, and similarly I traveled throughout the day.

Today morning again the same problem occurred. I asked his what is it, he said 'COMPRESSOR WEAK HO GIA, AIR FILTER PAR PETROL SMELL KERANA SE START HO JIAGA'. I asked him, what is the solution. He answered 'RING CHANGE KARNA HOGA'.

Now, I'm totally in dark and need to be enlightened. Since, I use the car for my daily work, any such problem causes disruption in my days work. I want this car up and running and don't want to sell it off . Can I depend or use this car for a regular use or I have to live with these niggles:confused:?

Sarbajit, Since this is an international forum, quotes in Hindi will not help others.

was he pointing towards AC Compressor O-ring? What is the link between Petrol in a Diesel car?

Thanks Planet Rocker. I will remember to quote in English only.
As you said, me too, do not understand the use of petrol. But the last time the mechanic started the car, I saw him doing this.

Sarbaji / Peter - do you have any idea, if the 1.9 came with a "water -in diesel" warning? or did it come with a water-diesel separator near the diesel filter?

The 1.3MJDs come with it if i can recall correctly.

Hi,

Here my problem is once the car engine reached 40-50 degree C heat if i switch off the car it won’t start immediately it will crank like a low battery symptom, even if i change new battery at that time it won’t start, once the heat is reduced to 10-20 degree then only it will start.

Due to this reason now i have rebuild the engine again but till the problem is not solved.

It seems when it is hot the full power from the battery is not supplied to starter, is there any possible for this please help me i have spend a lot for this car so i don’t want to sell this.

Any one give me the solution.

Thanks,
Vasanth.

dear Mr.Vasanth

i too had the same problem with my fiat petra 1.9D and solved by replacing carbon brush in selfmotor

so in your case the problem may be due to the following related to selfmotor.

1. weak field coil/ short field coil in selfmotor.
2. wornout carbon brush
3. weak solenoid switch
4. poor cotact with ignition switch

(when you turn inginition switch the12V goes to solenoid switch mounted on the selfmotor which closes the circuit and supplies 12V to selfmotor field coil. so weask field coil get more weak while the engine is hot same way the carbon brush solenoid switch etc. because all magnetic systems will lose thier magnetic energy when they are headed.)

so please check the self motor with auto electrical person

Friend's I need a help, i have a Fiat Petra 1.9D elx. The car had been sitting for the last 2 months. So i found the battery voltage to be 12.4V but the car didnt start and hence I jump started it and the car was kept in idling for around 30 minutes. Next day when I tried to start again, the engine didnt crank at all and a click click sound was coming from the glow plug control unit in the engine compartment and also the control unit was getting heated, but the glow plug light went off as usual in the dashboard before starting, I am unable to understand if the glow plugs have gone bad, or the control unit, or there is some problem in starter and battery. Any suggestion is highly appreciated. IMG_20181229_150215.jpeg
