| Palio 1.6 16V HL not starting in cold weather Hi there I have a South African made Fiat Palio 1.6 16V HL which struggles to start on cold mornings. I have replaced the fuel pump relay and checked all the connections leading to the fuel pump. The fuel pump also makes a "softer" noise than what it would if the weather was warmer or summer. Could any one please help with some advise with what the problem could be. Andrea-SA

| Re: Palio 1.6 16V HL not starting in cold weather First of all chech your spark plugs , because this is a common problem , what is their millage ? when was your last time you've changed them ? check your fuel injectors , may be they are not clean , you can make sure of this diagnosis by checking if there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe once the engine starts , if so , this is sure sign of the dirty injectors . if so , use the injector cleaning liquid which is added to the fuel tank , and don't forget to change the fuel filter . if they remain dirty even after using the cleaner , then you have to get the injectors out to clean them manually or even change them , But first of all make sure of the diagnosis . Any other suggestions from our friends in the forum ??
