Hi! I am new to the forums, just need some information on a car I may be purchasing. I am not sure if it is a kit car but have searched the net and can only find one picture! Does anybody know any more information on this car? It has a Fiat 126 watercooled engine and running gear.

Since it wont let me post a link, go on google, type in CC Zero and it os the first search result :)

Cheers

Is this it?:-

Don't have a clue about the car but someone may come along that does. It might be worth asking on their forum http://www.microcar.org/dc/dcboard.php

Welcome to the forum (y)

It is indeed a Fiat 126 based kitcar made by I think CarCraft. They made a fair few, I'll look thro my Kit Car mag colection later as I have a couple of articles about it.

Thanks Sledge, I wondered why I couldnt find any thing on the car craft website, thanks thats a big help

Hi, I can confirm that the Zero was made by Car Craft of Lytham St. Annes. I do not believe it was produced in any quantity as the company moved on to produce a bigger, faster model. If think this was the CC Cyclone, which used Vauxhall parts, Which Kit did a build feature on this model. Ian Stent the magazine editor drove one for some time. The initial Zero used the air cooled engine, gearbox, suspense and steering from 126. I can only recall ever seeing one for sale in the kit car magazines and that was in the London area. There was a article some years ago that implied that the Zero may be produced again but I have seen no articles since then.

Cheers
Mark:)

Just incase you are still wondering about the Zero..... I'm a very proud owner of a Mk 1 (aircooled engine) It's a fab fun car... I believe it was sold as a kit car with options for donar parts and with the car built to various stages of completion if required!! this was by my father in the 1990's. he bought the rights in about 1994 and had ton's of fun, even went so far as to begin an owners club... sadly there were few members (mostly due to Dad's lack of technological advances!) I would be very interested to here from anyone still owning and playing with a Zero of they're own... pictures would be fab ;-)

This is what i've been looking for, sad about the owners club! Do you know how many were made? I've been wondering about insurance, do you just insure it as a fiat 126?

Thanks for your post

Hmm I'm not sure how many in total although the original paperwork I hold suggests approx 26? But that was dated back in 1996-97 so it's difficult to be sure. When I looked at getting it on the road again I contacted a specialist insurance company for cherished cars in Farnham (Surrey)... It was surprisingly cheap too!
Anywho after having had mine for almost four years and having not had the time I'd like to get it back up and running I have come to the though decision to test the water and consider a sale. If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me and request to view if you wish. All sensible offers will be considered. I will include copies of all the photos/paperwork etc (some of which were hand written/drawn by my late father)

Lol Yes I know.... But I had intended to keep it forever as it was built by my late father. He passed four years ago this summer, and as I have yet to get it back on the road I thought I'd better consider a sale. It's better off going to someone whos going to give it the va va voom back.... I see what your saying about the look, but it could be easily changed and brought into a very modern look if someone wished. I love the way it looks .... Haha. Very biased I know!

hi my friend as what we believe to be a fiat cc zero that needs a bit of work, he knows very little about the car as it was left to him by his father. can you help with any information about this car? Thanks.

It was this one. Sold on eBay at the end and stayed in the UK as far as I know.

Quiet few of these are abroad now, mainly in France.
I currently have about two and half CCZeros:)
