Re: Mercedes vito 2006

The one I went to get today turns out to be a lemon not too rusty but was an insurance total loss entered into auction by and independent trader 2 reasons to walk away. Auctions I normally go to would have listed this on the website but not these buggers they didn't even mention it when I rang for more details.
This was Eama Norwich.an hour and a half from my home

Edit may as well put the reg in here slight chance it may help some one googling it

Re: Mercedes vito 2006

Vito rusts like hxxx and apparently the older ones had an issue or two with electrics as well. I would look for a Sprinter instead, can't kill those buxxxxs, but if it is Vito you want tread carefully

No experience from Vianos, but seem to recall that MB-club guys were not impressed.
They are quite rare around my neck of the woods, so not that many sightings either.

How about a nice Scudo?

All van's, no mather what make, do rust after 5-6 years, they are not intended to last much longer, so they don't get much rust proofing from any factory...!

Bearing in mind that vans are meant to be such heavy duty vehicles, why are they made so badly with regards to bodywork?!

Because of that heavy duty work, they don't last long...so why bother about rust proofing f.i.

Fair enough! I wonder how many mechanically sound vans are scrapped due to bodywork rotting...
